Ok, that's good to hear. Likewise would love to get him. I wouldn't even worry about getting a 3rd back and if they take JJ I would send them a 3rd in addition to Murray (and Simon if they want him). We'd then be a 3LW / 3C from having a really good bottom six that would be a PITA to play against:

?/McCann - ?/McCann - Kassian
Tanev - Blueger - Sceviour

- Hockey66

Or you just trade MM for AA.

Any player could block a prospect if they get outplayed IMO. Business first before draft pedigree. I wouldn't be surprised to see Poulin getting outplayed by Miletic, Lafferty or Bellerive right now.
- Barnaby36

If your prized prospect can’t beat our career AHLers you have a problem.

I would. If that's the case then Poulin isn't ready. If he's ready, he beats out those guys easily.

Bellerieve I like, but he had trouble getting above the 4th line in WBS so he has some work to do before he can be mentioned for a roster spot.

Lol no

Cool we'll just disagree then. I don't value Staal on ice at all, so I just see about 500k cap difference and one team got a 1st while the other just got a second.

I was expecting a Fleury of activity first thing today since the Finals are over. What a disappointment.

Edit: I had heard some teams/GMs were holding off on transactions out of respect for the teams still in the playoffs who weren't able to make any moves.

All but 2 teams have been open for business for a week and a half now.

I don't think we see much of anything until the draft.

The unknown start date definitely comes into play too. Not a huge rush to be cap compliant and sign all your RFAs

Do you think Athanasiou could be a viable option at 3C or would be better as a bottom six winger?

He’s best as a dynamic 3rd line winger. He’s atrocious at center and doesn’t generate enough for his line mates to be a top 6 winger.

Random idea:

JJ, POJ, Simon, and 2022 1st

For

Cholowski and 2021 2nd

Thoughts?

Okay, thanks for the info. Sounds like someone who could potentially boost our third line if nothing else. I’d gladly take that!

Whats up Max?

So many Penguins fans around HB that very rarely or never post in here. I think some of the regulars here scare other people away hahaha

EDIT: you gotta have thick skin to hang around these parts...

Make it a 2022 2nd and we're closer. Sneaky bastard.

I’d rather watch the Islanders squeeze every ounce of compete out if their team anyday than watch someone who is just physically gifted either score, or not score and wack and hack and crosscheck every player in sight on his way back to the bench. But the stats community finally got their champ, only took 15 years. Besides Kucherov Tampa’s a pretty likable team anyway.

Hey! I normally come to the comments section because I enjoy the hockey talk. I’m not the most knowledgeable fan when it comes to charts and graphs but tend to watch a good amount of hockey and keep up with teams via hockey sites like this one.

hahaha the 2016 Penguins were stat champs too.

I do however get what you're saying about the compete level, that is my favorite metric which isnt measurable by numbers, so not a metric really, but the eyes see it and part of reason I dont like losing Horny, he brings it every game. To say the Bolts didn't grab their nut sacks and give it their all though would be selling them short IMO. They battled.

As you can see by Grinders comment, you dont have to know or care about the graphs or charts to comment or hang around.
