Seems like the thread needs the usual reminder that the abbreviation for Calgary is CGY not CAL.
- Hunkulese

Nobody really cares, I thought is was CWT for Cowtown

I'm glad you did not make this into a contest as we HBers will lose that game.

You can shake the magic 8 ball to find the the answer within to the goalie merry go round.

The insanity is about to begin!

Let the off season begin.

Anyone who predicted Howard does not know much about the NHL. One guy predicted Talbot a starter over Blackwood. Holy crap, these predictions are garbage.
- joegreif17

why exactly is that crazy? Talbot had better numbers last year, and is significantly more experienced. Blackwood is 23 and has a total of 70 games of NHL experience, he's far from a lock for the starting job in NJ.

No one will sign Craig Anderson and I think people forget the Rangers already have Georgiev and Sheterkin. There is no need for them to acquire another goalie while they are trying to get rid of Lundqvist.

Exactly. Some of these predictions by the "experts" are pretty good evidence that they don't follow the NHL too closely.

Why would the Islanders sign any goalie when they already have Varlamov and Sorokin signed for next year? Makes zero sense.
- NYIFan4Life

you need a backup for the backup goalie in case of injuries otherwise like WTF

Islanders have two goalies and no cap space (after RFA's signed)
I only see a 1 Million dollar 3rd goalie signing at best....maybe to deal with expansion exposure rules-
I don't see Anderson continuing to be a third goalie at small $'s.

I would think that most teams don't ever want to go into a season where your 2 goalies have a combined total of 100 NHL games between the 2 of them.......especially a team like the rangers who seem poised to take a big step forward next season.
- sensarmy_11

The Rangers ARE poised to take a big step forward next season. And a big part of that will be having the guy with 12 NHL starts to his name as the starter.
There is no way anything else is the case. No Kuemper. No Huska. Hopefully no 3 headed monster.
But, regardless of anything else, Shesterkin has gone from goalie of the future to man of the hour!

Devan Dubnyk:CAR

Marc-Andre Fleury:DET

Thomas Greiss:CAL

Braden Holtby:TOR

Jimmy Howard:BUF

Unless the Kings trade Quick and are 100% confident Petersen is ready to step in as the #1, they aren’t in the market for a back up.

I predict...

Craig Anderson: retires
Corey Crawford: Chicago or retires
Devan Dubnyk: Detroit (Yzerman does for Minny what he did for NYR a la Staal)
Marc-Andre Fleury: Vegas (yup, said it)
Thomas Greiss: Edmonton (best platoon goalie in the league the last several years)
Braden Holtby: San Jose (crazy, but with their roster, there's nothing for them to do but keep plucking at the "we can still win the cup" thread. Only if he signs cheap and believes they can win, also!)
Jimmy Howard: Philladelphia or retires (pray to God not Edmonton!)
Carter Hutton: St. Louis
Robin Lehner: Colorado (Great chance to win AND get paid. . . As there is no official contract from Vegas yet, assume Fleury is holding it up & maybe it don't get done!)
Henrik Lundqvist: NYR (until I see he's bought out, the King retires a Ranger)
Darcy Kuemper: Arizona
Jacob Markstrom: Vancouver (I think they sign their MVP & they trade Demko at peak value for some decent assets and to unload a bad contract (Eriksson)--Ottawa's a fit; perhaps Detroit, again!)
Petr Mrazek: New Jersey (to be a 1B for Blackwood)
Matt Murray: Minnesota
James Reimer: Buffalo
Cam Talbot: Calgary
Khudobin: Carolina

I agree that Shesterkin has the job to lose and based on his play in the KHL, the AHL and the NHL I believe he will be fantastic. However that Alexandriev Georgiev, lol will provide some serious competition. Rangers do not need to sign anyone and find a peaceful way to end Lundqvist.
