May I add, Murray is playing much better than Niskanen right about now. Yay!

Great move for Jersey and for only a 5th.

*cough* Wasn't one cup a shortened lock out season? I guess you can add that one with a big...

Considering we can’t make the right pick in round 1, a 5th rounder is essentially of no value to this organization. haha. I’m ok with this move. I’ll take Murray over Mueller even if it’s only for a few games before he’s injured. Next up.... Schneider’s replacement. Considering the man went literally a calendar year without a win, it shouldn’t be too hard to improve in this area.

Why is that? Does that give us half a cup? Does that mean the Lightning’s Cup has an asterisk?

Sorry, I don’t buy that.

Yes, a 5th for a serviceable D is good. Till it lasts. He only has one year left in his contract.

Blackwood’s backup will be interesting. Since we don’t have anyone ready in the pipeline (I don’t want Gilles Senn ) free agency will have a lot of options.

If, and that's a big IF, he stays healthy, this will be a good addition. I would be reluctant to offer him a long term deal before season ends.

Fantastic trade! Very minimal risk with a potentially high reward! Fitz just continues to impress when it comes to trading

The Asterisk is to highlight the Crash Line beating the piss out of the Legion of Doom and Philly going down yet again in a playoff series.

Frankly, since we beat Boston #4, Pittsburgh #3, Philly #2 and Detroit #1 that was probably the hardest cup to win. In 1995 those where all really strong teams. When you compare that to the Rangers the year before who played the Islanders #8, Capitols#7, Devils #3 (their toughest opponent in 94) and the Canucks #7 in the final it's clear that our 95 cup was a much rougher road.

The season being shortened doesn't really explain why Philly sucked....

Remember, that was the Wings best years. No one gave the Devils a chance and they were all predicting sweep....they were right!

As a kid I was so scared playing Detroit that I almost threw up before the start of game 1.

I remember thinking ‘I’m freaking out and I’m just watching. How are the players dealing with the pressure?’

Got to love the flyers fans...Two cups since '67, last one being 45 years ago...NJ Devils...Three Stanley Cups since '82, last one 17 years ago probably before the punk fly girl fans were born. The best thing about the first two NJ cups was beating the flyers in the playoffs both times...Highlights? Coming back from 3-1 to beat the flyers and Scott Stevens knocking Eric Lindros out of philadelphia for good.

Quite a winning tradition you've created down there in philly.
