Nice to see that both Josh Morrissey and Scheifele made all three lists submitted by the TSN analysts...Button, Dreger etc. for Team Canada in 2022 . I don't have a link but maybe some of you have seen it. BTW...Doug Hamilton only made one of the three lists (barely).
I think MTL overpaid Gallagher on both salary and term. An exciting player to watch though and the fans love him so it put the GM in a tough spot.

Have to admit that I am surprised that Morrissey and Scheifele made all three TSN lists for Team Canada 2022. But would be elated if they are right!
Also surprised that Gallagher got that many $$$ and that long a term by Habs. Super good player who I would love on any team I had/played for - but wow, huge and lengthy contract. Body takes a toll the way he plays. Must have good agent! |

so now what fellas? could be a long wait till NHL season???
Does Roslovic/niku get moved?
Can we move Perreault if we include Stanley or Niku? please Ottawa, do us a solid!!
any more big trades?
What's Tampa doing?
here's an unpopular opinion;
I'd move Connor to the Islanders for Pulock and Wahlstrom
anyone have an interest in any of these for the right price?
Mikael Granlund
Mike Hoffman
Alex Galchenyuk
Anthony Duclair
Dominik Kahun
Andreas Athanasiou
Conor Sheary

I'll be the guinea pig and answer your questions as i see it:
1. Roslovic does not get moved
2 Perreault and Niku to Ottawa or Detroit
3. More big trades are coming down including Jets
4. Not cost controlled 40- goal scorer Connor for Pulock and Wahlstrom, but Mr. Laine. If not, cap problems will follow. Isles might want Pionk somehow included in deal
5. Jets 2nd line: Ehlers-Stastny-Roslovic (or Dadonov if the Jets can fit him in)
6. No idea what TB does, but still feel they put Stamkos on LTIR
7. No interest in mentioned players but like Dadonov (2 year contract max.)
8. Did anyone note there might be an all-Canadian division as suggested here?
My thought on a boring fall day - without hockey!!!

History is a good predictor of future performance. My bet is that both Roslovic and Niku get moved for late round picks. Chevy does nothing and the roster we have now is what we walk into the season with.

Would be a real waste to just throw Roslovic away for a crappy pick, even if there isn't a spot for him here (I think there is though) he's still got more value then a late pick, hold onto him for the season and use him as a chip for Seattle to stay away from exposed players that you want to keep, they need to manage their assets better. |

I'd be really interested to see what Granlund could add to the Jets lineup, would like to see them sign Haula, need another center still in my opinion, injuries happen and you need good depth to survive those injuries. |

100% Agree. There are teams out there though that could really use him as a second-line player. He is ready, and a physical specimen. Jets' top six is just too talented to crack. Chevy will get fair value on a trade or he won't be traded.
Hopefully same for Niku although Jets will get less for him as a relatively unproven commodity. |

I still think we have too many defencemen under contract.
Returning(7) - Morrissey, Pionk, DeMelo, Sbisa, Beaulieu, Poolman, Niku
Additions (3) - Heinola, Samberg, Forbort
Moose (5) - Nogier, Gawanke, Kovacevic, Chisholm, Stanley and others on AHL deals.

Hey don't knock crappy picks. A 5th rounder could have got you Murray from Columbus.

The last team that I thought would sign Dadonov and the last team I'd would've thought he'd sign with. |

Yeah another minor trade that Chevy wasn't in on, Murray would've been good on the 2nd pair, too busy seeing how they could help out Vegas I guess.. Lol
Still would hope for something better for Roslovic then that. |

I wonder if anyone has ever considered that quite often a player gets traded on the basis of 1 conversation between 2 GM's. It's not mandatory for a GM to call all the teams in the league.

Sure but a team that has a defense full of holes should be inquiring about who's available, also if there's any truth to the rumors that the Jackets were calling about Laine maybe Chevy could of found out that they were willing to give Murray away for a bag of pucks. |

Too bad Maurice has not recognized what a physical specimen he is to use him effectively. Would be nice to have more lines that can generate offense.

Just throwing this out there. Would any of you guys do the following trade?
To CAR: Patrik Laine, Jack Roslovic, Mathieau Perreault, Sami Niku, 2021 first round pick
To WPG: Andrei Svechnikov, Dougie Hamilton, Jordan Staal
Carolina gets instantaneous cap relief as Staal's contract is another 3 years. We dump Perreault. We also get an up and coming superstar in Svechnikov. Carolina gets two Finish players to go with their Aho and Teravainen. We get a top 5 defenseman in Hamilton. Hamilton and Staal are definitely Maurice type of players. |

Wonder what the issue is, does Laine hate the city or does he have a conflict with Maurice or some of the other players?
Lots of drama surrounding this team the last few years and it's way more then just Laine. |

Carolina never does that though, they would never trade Svechnikov. |

From my perspective there definitely seems to be some sort of divide between coaching and management. |

Well if you believe rumors. Laine wants 10M a year, if he doesn't get it he will follow the path of Trouba, go arbitration next year and hold the Jets hostage the year after on where he will sign a long term deal.
