I love me some Crawford ..but we couldn't take Fleury with even a 2nd rd pick? Why not? Owners don't wanna pay. 7.8 is a lot nicer than 14. |

Tanev to Calgary. Poor Vancouver..they lost a good one. Only D target left is Hamonic. RNH and Granlund still out there. Can't help but feel Nuge would be a better fit on either line except the "checking line" with zacha. My gut says Granlund would fit better with Zajac or Zacha, and Nuge better with Hughes or Hischier. Plus it's RW vs LW too. |

RNH is not a UFA. Better luck next off-season.

oh well lol. I didn't think so, and was surprised when I saw him on one of the UFA charts. |

Its a good deal for new Jersey. What most wont understand and maybe when next season starts we will find out , Crawford was very adamant about starting and playing the bulk of the games?
I still think if Crawford had a potential opportunity to go to a contender he should have , chicago defense is garbage and with his history of concussions he needs a more stable team to assure his health |

I like the signing and I am sure it shows blackwood will be the starter or at least majority of starts
My only worry is his age |

Never thought the day would come but quite arguably the hawks have the worst GM in hockey.
Crawford was tremendous for us especially in ‘15 when he essentially won the cup.
I suspect he will keep his stellar play up for the next couple years just fell asleep for a couple games against Vegas.
Teammates and fans often refer to him as Cristos....
Good luck in NJ |

But atleast Crawford is a solid land and a good mentor for Blackwood and a guy to pick up some slack. |

Solid pickup He'll be a good mentor for Mac, and him and Blackwood should be one of the best tandems in the league this season. I assume they'll be rolled out as 1a/1b situation. |

No problems with Crawford, just hope he ages well next two years. The price point just seems a little high in my opinion. I know the Devs have plenty of cap room, but don't use it for the sake of using it. |

Great sign by fitzgerald... only a 2 year deal... can mentor, split games, or worst case take over if covid/injuries hit blackwood... if it was longer term id have issue due to age and vertigo issues... but 2 years is a nice gap to find out if blackwood can be the guy or not |

That argument only exists for the people who think Uncle Dale should be credited for all three Cups and never liked Stanbo for him cashing in on hockey nepotism.
But whateves...
Agree with the rest of your statement, except I'm willing to chalk up Crow's less than stellar play in these last playoffs to potentially lingering effects of Covid.
Think you guys will love him and hope he has a couple productive seasons in NJ.

I’d much prefer to back up Blackwood with a prospect who’s had a couple successful years in the AHL; but since we don’t have anyone really good in the pipeline close to ready the Crawford is a fine choice.

THIS SURPRISE ME . I WOULD HAVE THOUGH HE WOULD GO SOMEWHERE TO WIN A CUP , MAYBE AVALANCHE OR HURRICANES , I THINK STAN COULD HAVE GIVING HIM A 2 YEAR DEAL FOR 7 MILLION . OR EVEN A 3 YEAR FOR 9. |

He's (Bowman) has been trash for some time, but the winning and afterglow of Cups, has muted much of criticism.
Certainly smart to lose Lehner for 5m a year, AND let Crawford go. That is some foresight by Bowman.

Corey says he wants most of the starts, but he really needs to share a role. It's best that he stays healthy for potential playoffs.

We made another trade, this time with the Leafs. Sounds like an Andreas Johnsson for Joey Anderson one for one swap |
