Only worry i have about trading yandle is that i believe he and ekblad have formed a friendship and believe they are neighbors so id hate for a trade to sour the remainder |

What’s that got to do about anything. Heck I like my neighbor too but if he moves I will sleep at n8ght |

Matt I just don’t see it. All five guys are non factors. A bottom six tough defenseman are nothing special, we had one already in josh brown.
Columbus which is a much better organization than panthers buys out the contract of a former 1st round pick, come on realizing the mistake they made and moves on. Maybe we should do the same with Yandle |

Not privy to the Ekblad - Yandle relationship, but Ekblad lived with Willie Mitchell's family for a year or two after he was drafted. He survived Mitchell's retirement and I am sure he could survive a Yandle trade if it happens. |

I think this is Weegar’s third arbitration filing. Last year they made a deal before the hearing, the previous year they went by arbiters decision,I think. At least Weegar’s filing means that he’s no longer eligible to receive an offer sheet from another team. Hopefully they’ll again reach a deal before the hearing.
Now that Hall has signed, I imagine Hoffman and Dadonov will receive the “official” offers from teams who were also trying to sign Hall. Maybe we’ll find out tomorrow. Rumors that Dadonov was “leaning” towards re-signing w/FL.
Zito’s signings so far have solidified some of the depth issues, and Verhaeghe may blossom after being stuck in the depth of that TB lineup. Zito still has to resolve Weegar’s deal, and add (or keep) a top 6 winger. It would be nice if they could move either Stralman or Yandle to free up more space. Maybe Hoff is open to a shorter term deal, like Hall was. There’s still work to be done w/their roster. Zito isn’t finished making moves, yet. |

I liked Josh Brown a lot, but Gudas brings a different kind of physicality. Hopefully he learns to walk the line and not frequently step over it.
Im OK with the other moves Zito has made. It’s such a funky year and uncertain future. I think these guys help strengthen the lineup and don’t break the bank. I can understand being nervous about Wennberg, but let’s see what he can do on what is no doubt a “prove it” deal.
I do still think a bigger move needs to happen though... |

True that FL has been spinning wheels and been in various states of floundering for the great majority of their existence. But...
Zito has been here for, like, 25days.
The previous managers and the Wasted Years have nothing to do with now. |

I have been OK with moving Ekblad for a long time. As goofy as it may sound to some, I would prefer to move him over Weegar.
TOR looks like they have added quite a bit so far in FA so far. |

Could be the Weegar deal, and everything else, is on hold because he now sees a chance to get Hoff back on a short term deal. I doubt that he’s done.

Yes there will be. They’ll re-sign him before his arbitration hearing. $11 mill cap space remains, to get Weegar done and hopefully try to add a scoring forward. I don’t think they’re done yet. Zito is patient and not rushing into stupid moves just to “get things done”. Lot of offseason left, yet.
And, even if it’s a trade, there still will be a Weegar deal. |
