Glad he was signed, it sucks that the injuries really hurt his career. |

Keep Zacha one more year I say. I just have this gut feeling things are going to click with at last. He was drafted as a scoring forward, but has been used in ways he isn't suited for. He is slowly but sure becoming a Swiss Army Knife player. Lets see what Lindy does with him, if he isn't working out during the season then trade him to a team that can use him during a playoff push. |

I'm not expecting real improvement point wise from Zacha but I could be wrong. Regardless, I agree we should keep him. Zajac is 35 and presumably in his last year as a Devil. Zacha is a good replacement as a 3rd or 4th line center. He's a legit and useful NHL player. |

Agreed. Zacha is a very solid 200' Centre. He never produces the points, but he can be a great 3/4 C with this team for a long time. Likely Zajacs final year, and Hughes needs the support. |

Safe to say we weren't on Schmidt's short list of teams. Haha a 3rd is a pathetic return for a true #1D. I honestly think Vegas made a huge mistake swapping him out for Piett. I'd happily take Schmidt for under 6M until he is 34, then Piett at 8.8 until 38 years old. Wow. |

NHL Network said Hoffman may be a good add for the devil's as he brings a scoring touch for Nico or Hughes
A 4 or 5 year deal at a good price would be ideal
Said the contenders may already have better wingers but may not score as much but he would bring what the devil's need

I like Hoffman and I think having a couple of guys his age (30 and Palms at 29) is good to mix in. This team needs some scoring threats and is short on legit wingers. |

I'd prefer Dadanov at RW, but certainly would not complain if we bring Hoffman in. No more than 5 years, no more than 5.5M AAV. Both are much better than Toffoli and would boost our scoring.
It's unfortunate Gustafsson went for 1 year at 3M. He was a bargain with plenty of upside. |

Here is some good news to brighten your day, Mercer has played in 4 games for Chicoutimi, has 4 goals and 2 assists. |

Would help with scoring and not be totally reliant on palms |

With the NHL's economy taking a serious hit, the cap could remain flat for a couple of years. Teams are going to be relying on production from entry-level contracts more now then ever before. We have few long term commitments, and plenty of cheap talent stockpiled in our system. Things are actually looking up! |

I keep seeing people comment about Dadonov. He screams Camalleri to me. He's 31 and a half already. If signing him means we lose leader Palmieri and younger Gusev, then this is a mistake. We need to spend the money on 23yr old Cernak infinitely more than Dadonov. |

Get both!
(but resign Palms!) |

Agreed, im hoping we avoid both of them. I would only take a shot on Dadonov at 2-3 years max if it helps us re-signs Goose, since they're apparently close and used to play with each other at times throughout their careers. Not sure if that even matters to him but anything to help keep him here |

Dadonov and Hoffman are both good players but age should be a factor here. Having vets around doesn't really mean all that much when they aren't going to factor into the long term vision of the team especially when they are going to take spots from younger players who need to develop.
I think picking up talent through trades is still worth a lot more than FA signings as teams need to clear more cap. |

Reminds me of when we thought it could be a good idea to sign Jordan Eberle for Taylor Hall. |
