Boychuck , Cullterbuck and a 2nd rd pick to Detroit
Islanders would get.......
Glendenning and a 4th rd pick.

I don't know if the deal fell through but that is what l was told.

I have a hard time believing DET would take just a 2nd round pick for $9.5M in cap space for the next two years, especially when that's half of what they have open right now and still need to re-sign Mantha/Bertuzzi, and $13M in actual money.

But hey if it happens I'd probably shoot one in my pants.

I'd have to think that maybe we'd be including both 2nd round picks that we just got if that deal were to have any chance of happening.

Yeah if all that was actually true, seems like the sticking point probably would have been the lack of compensation on the Isles end to take all that money off the books.

I would think any team taking Boychuk would also want a desirable player to be part of the deal. That's why bundling Toews with JB was an option, but it seems like Lou unloaded Toews as quickly as he could. Another option would be working a deal with a team that's below or near the floor and willing to take part of BC's salary/bonus, right?

He only has a 7 team no-trade list, so it's not entirely prohibitive but my guess is that if they were to ask him for that list he's probably putting the 7 teams with the least cap space on there
