Player wise, they're pretty close as far as how they drive and contribute offense for their teams, but one was a UFA and one is an RFA. The arbitrator is not allowed to use Gallagher's new contract for Reinhart.

You can say that about every player in RFA history that signed an extension for the following season. There's plenty of reasons why they would do a contract prior. Ekblad comes to mind.

We'll see how productive Sam is if he is off the top line and I hope he shows he has it on line 2 if that is where he plays. He definitely won't be 7 million bucks a year worth.
