It probably should be considered more like $900k overpayment, given Larsson was better, had more responsibility...so, the comparable should be Larssons $1.4 less $0.1 adjustment ... therefore $1.3m target.
If Adam's was bowling and trying to pick up a spare on the 10 pin at the far right, he would have thrown a gutter ball instead...only in the left gutter...onto the next lane over, to the left.
Bad miss, just bad.

I LOVED the Staal AND Hall acquisitions though...outstanding gets.

Very well apparently...Krueger put Skinner with him so Larssons habits would run off. What do they do now, oh the horrors of it all!

Great article by Vogel on The Athletic regarding potential Arb Awards for Sam, Olo, and Ullmark.

Explains the process, options and does a terrific job using comparables to arrive at estimated Award Amounts.

For those who are unsure of the process, and who can be used for compariables, John lays it out in spades.

It is very well done, suggest every gives it a look

How do you get one of the cheap Athletic subscriptions?

They want $13.49 a month to read the stories. I really only follow the sabres and I’m not paying that to read.

Wasn’t it like a buck or so?

Sorry paul s.

The " local " general opinion of Samson isnt what the sammers and love bent homie, project on this site.

We work hard in buffalo, and expect at the very minimum, working hard for your paycheck, every shift.

He gone anyways. Or cheap team friendly 1 year deal.

Most of my friends that pay $ as season ticket holders cant stand sam . The lack of bringing anything redeeming to most games. Hard to even Notice if Sam's dressed for some games.

Watch the rats flee the ship.

"Sam's not even in my top 20 favorite players "
"I root for him. Because I'm a fan of the Sabres and that's what good fans do"

🛎🛎🛎

Watch for: these posts soon from sammers

I've never said he was good
I've never said pay him 7+ million
I've never said he was a core player
That's bad asset management not signing him long term
Man covid pricing really lowered his value
What a complete steal on a contract, wow Adams is a great negotiator

Well if the “analytics” and “fancy stats” don’t support Locomotive Larry over OG Larry, than our CSE (Chief Soccer Executive) must “Feel”, Locomotive Larry practices harder...

Either way, The CSE, CPE, with the guidance of their president and CEO are building their team in their eyes... it’ll boom or it’ll bust.

Now fix the d and get get hutton his prescription sports goggles.

What do the rest of us have to do to be so lucky?

Worst concert I’ve ever attended, took a little hottie to see Cinderella as opening act for Bon Jovi. The things a high school boy will do to try to get laid....
Sat through that crappy show, and got skunked by the hottie

Maybe.

I haven't heard anyone say I want to pay Sam $7m as your post claims.
I said; If he continues to produce at 65pt rate, then he'll get paid $7m ... which assumes a then typical term of 6, 7, 8 yrs, as those out years include UFA years he'll need to get paid for.
Covid likely will play a part if they sign outside of Arb...just like other contracts have been impacted....both in Term and AAV..it is Fact.

Vogel projected ~$6m per on a Arb award for RFA years only.
Will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

I'd be fine with a trade, dependent on who it is. In fact, I'd rather spend his money elsewhere and believe they could adequately replace his relative production. ($'s / points). I'm also ok keeping him for a year until Dahlin, Joker, and Hall's contract need to be signed next iff season.

Just another routine catch for him I guess. I’d be dancing like a fool if I made a grab like that. Of course I’d probably smash thru the wall like Bump Bailey.

Gurgs at 2.2 needs 12 goals 12 assists =24 points for his contract to be fair.
*a defensive specialist with all 19 points last year 5 x 5

Sam now getting 7 million for 65 points ?
Guy hooked to eichel and the #1 pp unit

Playing favorites ion s

100,000 per point seems fair for a bases, not considering players usage/ pk/pp

interesting article

"Historically, teams that essentially “go dark” for a season or more never return because of any of a myriad of problems. With no revenue coming in, or in a worst case scenario having to refund season ticket money, sustaining the operation needed to keep a franchise functional – especially in small markets – is difficult at best and near impossible at worst. It would take a combined effort between the league, teams and communities to make sure everyone comes thru the darkness back into the light."
