Haven’t seen it but I’m gonna guess Detroit won a cup when he was at Michigan?

Ryan O'Reilly could be next in line to be the captain of the St. Louis Blues.
The Blues will be looking for someone to replace Alex Pietrangelo, who signed with Vegas, and O'Reilly appears to be the top candidate. St. Louis GM Doug Armstrong mentioned that O’Reilly would be "part of a group of players. I think we’ve been a team that’s relied on the masses (more) than any one individual.” It doesn't sound like the team is in a hurry to make a decision, but O'Reilly makes a great deal of sense. The 29-year-old center won the Conn Smythe Trophy when the Blues won the 2019 Stanley Cup. O'Reilly has also been a key player during the regular season with 40 goals and 138 points in 153 games with St. Louis since he was acquired from Buffalo.

By the time arbitration is done with we’ll probably have $2M in cap space tops.

Best I think we’ll see is Montour dealt to Detroit for essentially nothing.

Then Hutton with 50% retained plus a pick to Arizona for Raanta.

What’s all this trade for Kane talk anyways?

Is Chicago shopping him?

- jdfitz77

The specific reason it came up here earlier is that someone said the cost of a Kane to Buffalo deal was discussed on The Instigator today.

I don’t think Kane wants anything to do with coming home.

He knows he’ll get himself into trouble.

Pegula loves P Kane and has tried to get him before but now is a different story. They can't keep everyone including Hall and pay these guys 10 mill each a year, maybe without Skinner.

My guess is they manage to get the cap hit down to $75 million after a couple of moves.

24 goals in the last 2 yrs total and now he's worth 5 mill a year ? Reinhart should get 8-9 mill a year at that rate.

It’s arbitration.

Player always asks for more then he’s worth, the team always low balls.

Arbitrator meets in the middle 95% of the time.

Sam and risto
5.5 + 5.5 = 11 million, maybe separate trades?
Okposo, montour and 1st = 10 million

There's some guys that could be moved to make room for pk88

With Toews coming out saying he doesn't understand the direction of the team there are people who think Chicago is considering a complete rebuild.

Even Hawks fans on Capfriendly have been putting together rosters without both Kane and Toews. Some of the packages I have seen are intriguing others are either not enough going from Buffalo (even some Hawks fans posters) or not enough.

Kane is elite, but I don't see how Buffalo could bring him on with Hall (still weird that he is a Sabre) and keeping the cap reasonable to be able to re-sign Dahlin next off-season.

If I am Chicago I would want Cozens and next years first included in a trade plus a roster player or two who are younger. Buffalo is NOT in a position to move BOTH Cozens and next years first. I would move next years first in a heartbeat but I don't see Buffalo putting up the best package for him. Kane does have the ultimate say though since he has a full NMC. He could say if you're trading me, I am only going here sort of like what Hasek did, and if that's the case I would imagine Chicago just keeps him.

Edit: How about Skinner next years first Mitts and Pekar? Not enough most likely but it gives Chicago youth. The only way I could see Kane coming here and being flexible with the cap is if Skinner goes the other way.

- Stripes77

Wtf do Hawks fans on CapFriendly KNOW about what direction the team is gonna go?

No offense to you, or others, taking about getting PK88... but this is all premature

Haven’t even heard rumors from any experts about this supposed full rebuild....
have we?

I guess it’s something different to talk about though at least

And i think we’d all be thrilled about getting Kane
At least for a few hours....
then some will start b!tching about Risto & Girgs again 😂😂😂

My wife's name is Patty. An Irishman who's name is Patrick is commonly referred to as Paddy. Not to nit-pick, but growing up in South Buffalo, it's kind of a big deal, lol.
