I am so sick of those negative posts, not directed at you

they went out and got the best player out there, gave up no assets

they deserve to be under a microscope, for constant f ups, but this is clearly not one of those issues

I am still shocked we got him

- homiedclown

You and me both ...... #sabres on twitter is horrible. SO MANY broken sabres fan.

Girgensons got overpaid by 700K it was the end of the world.

Eakins is a good 3C and all the analytics say he sucks yet, yet played great with the jets. So automatically the worst player ever.

Losing Larsson was like losing Drury and Briere all over again.

At the end of the day, the sabres are better than last year. NOT PERFECT, but BETTER.

Now get a goalie.

Sam's fancy stats blow Laine's out of the water.. But what this really comes down to isn't Sam v Laine. It would have to be Laine v Skinner and we already have Skinner so we're kinda stuck with it. Honestly, I said it last year and I'll say it again. I'd still take Skinner over Laine. He prolly scores less goals, but he also isn't as bad defensively (I know he isn't good but Laine is possibly the worst defensive winger in the game, and that's not hyperbole) and he scores 5v5 way more than Laine. He's also a pest, gets under the opponents skin, and draws a lot of penalties. If Laine isn't blasting away on the PP, he's largely invisible or noticed for the wrong reasons.

worst case we get one year of hall and no playoffs

second worst case, hall is not happy and waives ntc at deadline and we get assets

ok case, we get him for a year and playoff stats

best case, he loves it here and signs a 4 or 5 year deal after expansion draft and jack passes him the cup one day soon

- homiedclown

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

I always worry about term when dealing with a player at the 30 year old mark but if anyone can perform into their mid-late 30’s it would be Hall.

I’m willing to take the risk.

Ideally though like you said hopefully we can convince him to take a 5 year deal with us and win a Stanley Cup.

What irritates me, what clearly irritates us, is that we get a hold of talent, and find every excuse under the sun to get rid of it. Like, (frank) off.

Jack Eichel is a bad leader. Trade him.
Sam Reinhart doesn't sign autographs. Trade him.
Dahlin isn't the defenseman I expected him to be. Trade him.
Jokiharju doesn't score many goals. Trade him.
Skinner had a down year. Trade him.
Hall only has one good year left. Release him.
Olofsson is a bad 5v5 goal scorer. Trade him.
Eric Staal is 35 and will suck. Trade him.

- TheSabresTaco

Taco, my opinion of san reinfart is that of a fan who's watched him play closely. I watch almost every minute of every game. Good or bad.

Sam is not nearly as good as you or any of the sammer swallowers pretend. Its ridiculous how much you guys love him? OVERRATED and his contract will reflect it.

When sam gets around 5 million possibly less, you will pretend "nobody saw this coming"

Fuching pay sam 7 million when, hall gets 8. Get the fuch out of here......

Also: Somehow try and pretend I dont like sam ONLY , because he didnt sign an autograph 4 years ago for a Friends daughter.

Dude rides coattails.

Curious to see if the rumoured Flames chatter can result in Hanifin coming here, from what I’ve read he and Jack are close. Would that be an upgrade?

Take your butthurt, and understand the irony of homies post. Complaining about another poster complaining.

He has made this place vile with the pegula hate.

But, Vogel was misinformed.

Seems to me the only thing that he female doged about that hasn't actually occurred is the Internal Budget...which was supported by multiple reporters; local and national...leading me to believe that it was an option, and likely changed when it got serious with Hall...purely conjecture on my part.

The Pegula's cumulative mismanagement over years with the Sabres has earned them the reputation they have from many.

That said, LOVE the Hall signing!

"Yeah but we can't re-sign Hall because he may be out of his prime after this year"
- TheSabresTaco

Had this debate with someone on Twitter.

There’s no replacing Hall internally

There’s also no scenario ever where you’d have to sacrifice Dahlin or Cozens because of him.

If he’s close to MVP level Hall. You keep him

I have mentioned this before ........ The Blackhawks, leafs, vegas, and (okay you get the point) have all CLEARED cap space in the past to create more room to sign star players.

The Sabres could do it. Just gotta pay up.

I just don’t get the point of worrying about this now.

Let the guy play a game in the Sabres sweater before we worry about him leaving or what the next contract will look like

If they get Joki to take a team friendly deal, that would be swell. Dahlin is gonna get paid, it is what it is. Kid has made huge strides imo, and it's gonna start to be reflected. KO will eventually be gone, and so will Risto's 5 and change. Just gotta figure it out in the meantime, and hopefully we get good Skinner for the remainder of the contract.

👍

Kagm was a great signing so far -
Harbor center rink guard

Soccer man -
Turns out to be a well respected hockey coach. By his former players.

Homie has been wrong for months and the biggest complainer on here.
He needs to be checked after 6 days of free agency, calling out others for complaining.

I think the cap management covo comes into play due to needing to pay Sam, Olofsson, and Ullmark.

I agree, let the season play out.

But I am 100% onboard with keeping hall if it means sacrificing a core player. Hall is such an elite talent. You need to keep him at all costs.

Slow news day? Nothing to talk about besides line combos? Better than female doging at each other? Plenty of reasons to chat about it as I see it.

It’s definitely a risk.

I would move Risto + though for him and hope that Kreuger can get into his ear about his defensive metrics.

His shot though is the difference for me.

Believe me I’m all about the fancy stats. I’m willing to take the risk though and hope that the defensive numbers improve in our system while unleashing that beast on the right side of Eichel.

If we can keep Taylor Hall, then you move the first rounder + to have someone take that Okposo contract.

We hope to god Seattle takes Eakin in the expansion draft.

Then you have to move Olofsson for futures or for back end help when Montour walks at the end of the year.

Saved everyone hours of debate, your welcome
