an additional 31 5th round picks
- TheSabresTaco

That's quite good!
Too bad Botts isn't here...he could trade them for 16 6th rounders in the following years draft.

You and me both ...... #sabres on twitter is horrible. SO MANY broken sabres fan.

Girgensons got overpaid by 700K it was the end of the world.

Eakins is a good 3C and all the analytics say he sucks yet, yet played great with the jets. So automatically the worst player ever.

Losing Larsson was like losing Drury and Briere all over again.

At the end of the day, the sabres are better than last year. NOT PERFECT, but BETTER.

Now get a goalie.

- Sabretooth9

Ugh. First time in a long time I went to battle the (frank)ing crybaby analytic nerds. I appreciate analytics for what they are. But the female doging about Kahun, Eakin, HALL, Girgensons, Larsson is out of (frank)ing control. (frank)ing suicidals.

Sabremetrix, if you're here, your opinions are bad and you should feel bad.

Del Reid who co-founded it has always said it’s the fans that own it.

If I’m Dahlin and his agent I’m not signing a long term deal...

If I’m the Sabres I want him long term ASAP.

If you want a long term deal that’s team friendly you have him signed tomorrow 8 years $6 million per and in a year or two that would be a huge bargain of a contract.

- Stripes77

Yeah my point is Dahlin isn't signing that. To get him to sign my bet would be 8x8.

We should still sign Kahun, because he's still available and a good player. If we don't I'm ok with it. But he's still a good 3rd liner that said he was open to signing here.

Taco, my opinion of san reinfart is that of a fan who's watched him play closely. I watch almost every minute of every game. Good or bad.

Sam is not nearly as good as you or any of the sammer swallowers pretend. Its ridiculous how much you guys love him? OVERRATED and his contract will reflect it.

When sam gets around 5 million possibly less, you will pretend "nobody saw this coming"

Fuching pay sam 7 million when, hall gets 8. Get the fuch out of here......

Also: Somehow try and pretend I dont like sam ONLY , because he didnt sign an autograph 4 years ago for a Friends daughter.

Dude rides coattails.

If you had to, what AAV would you propose to him for a 3 year bridge deal.
- IonSabres

Yeah, idk about any of this stuff. I just know he wouldn't sign an 8 year deal for 6M. Because he probably outplays that this year or next. But a 5.5 for 3 maybe? maybe a little less. Hey, I'm all for an 8x6M if he'll sign haha. I just don't see why he would do that.

So here's some of the points I've tried to spread onto the "NoooOoOoo KAHUN u suk KevyInnn!!!"

1. Top 9 wingers today. Hall, Skinner, Olofsson, Reinhart, Cozens, Thompson. Where exactly is Kahun playing? Certainly not the 4th line.

2. We have 13M for Reinhart, Olofsson and Ullmark. I estimate about 1M space with the 3 of them signed. Not sure if we'll be forced into a trade or not after they sign.

3. Kahun remains unsigned, and guys much more prolific than him have signed for 3, 4, 5M

4. While I undoubtedly know that Kahun is a useful player, at the end of the day, this wasn't Girgensons, Eatkids, Reider, Hall etc. vs Kahun. This is Thompson vs Kahun. Plain and simple. This org signed Thompson for the number they wanted to sign Kahun to, and it's clear they believe in Thompson over Kahun.

Nah, I know the tweet you’re referencing and it’s spot on.

The team and GM are terrible talent evaluators

A monkey can tell you Taylor Hall is good.

A bad GM/coach will pick overpaying Eakin and Girgensons over qualifying Kahun

I agree, his Agent wouldn't let him.
His best move, IMO is NOT to sign anything this year.
Let the Covide impact have another year-ish to be further along with the future becoming brighter hopefully) and for Dahlin to further boost his play...cash in next off-season.

Why would we not have room for both? Oh because they signed Reider, Girgensons, Lazar and Eakin, all of whom are worse than Kahun?

Got it

Seems like that to me. They want $ on anything with Bills Mafia on it?? Del should have trademarked it. Trademarking something doesn't mean you have to enforce the trademark

It's not spot on. It's a distraction. It was never, ever about Kahun vs 4th liners and centers. This org should be sent into the sun if they think those two players are "better" than Kahun.

Different. Roles.

Plain as day.

Day 1 of Kevyn Adams was "we're going to make sure the players have specific roles and mesh together and know their purpose"

Jason Botterill's collection of talent was a waste of everyone's (frank)ing time.

If we have the cap, and want to carry 14 forwards, go ahead and sign Kahun. I'm not against the player. He's a duplicate third line winger. I'd be happy to have him.

Naw, there will be injuries. If nothing else, he's an insurance policy. One injury away from slotting into a top six role. What if Cozens isn't ready? I wasn't on the kill the owners for not signing him, but at this point he's had plenty of time to talk to other teams and found less then ideal conditions for signing for more I'd assume. This isn't a numbers issue, he'd still serve a purpose and would actually make Tage earn it (not that I think Tage would shy away, but my point is you can never have too many good players)

So, you mean much like your constant, incessant complaining about Sam based on your critical perception of his play initially fueled by him blowing off a jersey signature.

We ALL have our issues we complain about.

For as good of a human and motivator as Ralph apparently is by all accounts; his in game and game day roster decision this past year has left most of us scratching our heads. I like Ralph, but playing Skinner on 3rd and 4th line, playing 7 D and 11 F, causing a D man to play up are just a couple.

It seems his issue was people complaining about the Hall acquistion based on assumptions they have made about the future that hasn't happened yet, not about actual actions that have occured.
I see a big, big difference.

- IonSabres

For the last time , let me clear this up in regards to sam:

Although i went to quite a few games in 2014 ( lose for sam ) year. I became a season ticket holder in 2015 the mceichel tank season.

- sam was very unimpressive in his 9 game 1 secondary assist introduction to me as a "paying" fan
- the following year, there was alot of hoopla about sam and his "muffin shot," and extra ror practices. Tmgm mentioned he needed to work on his shot and he was putting in extra time. That extra practice apparently lasted a short period of time.
- I hear drunken stories of being a d'ck with eichel off the ice. Being almost arrested, but swept under the rug for being an a$$ at fright world. Sam being super hammered to the point where the cops almost arrested him.
-a few more drunken stories I cant %100 substantiate
- guy cant plug into 2c the position they drafted him for.
- guy is really slow, lacks energy and any pizzazz playing on a losing team.
-guy cant take a picture with a friends teenage daughter ( at the arena) because he has a girlfriend?
- guy continues to be a decent point player, but not the cerebral ice vision guy as touted.
- guy scores hadn't scored 25 plus goals with a top 3 passer in the game.
- guy cant separate himself or really establish anything both years eichel had his devastating injuries. The other #2 guy.
- guy doesnt play pk or defend particularly well
-guy flat out gives up during a play that resulted in a goal

These are my opinions

Slow ,unexciting, non winner that has been given every benefit of a doubt by the Sabres organization.

Also , sat out last contract and may be a difficult player to negotiate with, being that he is attached to eichel and his stats are admittedly fluffed.

The same sammers just love him. He has really proven nothing beyond being a complimentary player on a crappy team.

Please do not pay him as a "core" player.
Ralph gets it. No long extension or big $.
Now sammer swallowers want to give him 7 + million after signing the league mvp from 2018 for 8 million.

Hope this helps ion, as we are all entitled to our own opinions. Now I'll sit back and wait for WEt2 to pick 1 line out if my post and barrage me. 🤔

See my edit one post above. But Cozens is staying. There's no chance in hell they boot him out of here. They didn't hem and haw about whether he's ready. They both spoke in absolutes, or as much as a coach and GM can. He's here to stay.
