I’ve read elsewhere that the first approx. $6.1M of performance bonuses are exempt from the cap. Is that not correct? If it is correct then only $3.9M would be applied to the cap if $10M was reached. I’m confused.

As I understand it:

Exempt is not the word to use as the bonuses, whatever is reached, will be applied to next year's cap. In this case the Rangers exceed the allowable % and that excess number needs to be accounted for and applied to this years cap space.

Like mrn said, the best possible thing to happen is Tony clicks with Trouba if they decide to do that. Makes the left side strong and gives Miller a chance to be brought along slowly.

Can't wait till Tony is extended for another 6 years after this deal
