Fletcher can say the same thing 100 times if he wants, but the bottom line is his actions speak volumes. Fletcher is not going to take on any contracts right now so he can maximize his Expansion draft protection strategy. What this effectively means is we will not be seeing any more FAs sign with the Flyers or trades be made, period. The Flyers as currently constituted are not good enough; they lack speed and they lack the ability to finish plays. Their PP was exposed in the playoffs. The Flyers defense in the playoffs was stellar, one of the best defensive teams in the league, but they couldn't score and they went home. Tell me how things are going to change with the pathetic offseason Fletcher has overseen? Maybe if the Flyers sign Hoffman to a short term deal they can address the PP, but the latest rumors do not have the Flyers in on Hoffman. So what's left? The same group of players we have now, plus a lot of crossed fingers that Patrick can simply hold up for a season and Lindblom can come back strong. I was super excited about the Flyers future after this season and was hopeful they could make a few moves and take that next step, but instead I believe this upcoming season will be another lost season, and we will have to continue to wait for a team that actually has a chance to win a cup.

The Flyers may not make another move but you're wrong about why. Guaranteed he is looking to free up some cap space. It's not going to be a lost season. Lots of room for large growth with this team internally. Anyone expecting major moves coming into this set themselves up for disappointment.

Looks like he is penciled in for 3C, with more favorable matchups and decent players playing on his wing what is a reasonable expectation? I’d say in the 40-50 point range would be a fair.

The cap is about days, not games. Any time a player is on the active roster he counts against the cap. Just because he is scratched doesn't mean he is off the cap. We'll have to see where the Flyers wind up after signing Myers. Each time you call up a player, it takes away from the cap space you have. Not to mention roster space. What you state is just not feasible for a variety of reasons.
