Read again statement is gone not traded. Ergo waved to spark termination either mutually or by retirement. Leverage only if there is an AHL season and then can bury in the minors until he's gone.
- NuckUp

Can't send him down until next season starts, I read again and you suggested he's gone by the end of the month.... which he's not retiring by it MTA. Anyways, love the optimism, I'm not drinking that much kool-aid.

I don't know if Michael Leighton is a 'goalie of note', but he did advance to the Stanley Cup final with Philly in 2010 while wearing number 49.

I would take him on a cheap one year deal to play bottom pairing.
Better then Benn.

Sbisa, Gudbranson, Tryamkin, Myers. JB's infatuation with big D-men hasn't exactly worked out too well.

Sbisa is the same height/weight as Edler. Myers is fine for now. Tryamkin is on his way

Gudbranson is a plug, agreed.

So what? Difference is Sbisa was garbage

Myers is an incomplete grade.

Tryamkin will want a one way deal again, hard pass.

Looking around at bargain bin UFAs still out there for forward... would Athanasiou be an option for a small "show me" contract? His speed on Bo's line would be great, and Bo + Pearson covering his defensive inabilities might make it more palatable...

I'm just saying Sbisa isn't a "big D man". Lumping him in with Chara, Tryamkin, and Myers isn't correct.

What is correct is he was hot garbage. But that was due to his skill, not his size

And a one way deal doesn't mean anything other than $$ now. He can have a one way deal all he wants, but one- or two-way deals still need to get put on waivers to be sent down.

6'3 is pretty big, Gudbranson is 6'4. Any player around that size should be able to move people around. If they were inclined.

Tryamkin doesn't deserve to be treated better than any other player.

I don't consider Edler a "big D man", and he's the same height with a few more pounds than Sbisa. That's all I'm saying.. height doesn't necessarily equate to being/playing big.

And no, he doesn't – he should get a typical contract, just like everyone else, and earn his spot, just like everyone else. If he can't beat out someone like Jordie Benn, then he doesn't deserve to be on the team.

I remember when Hank the Tank (i think that was his name?) would always post Ek's crazy bio in the blogs to egg him on

"I went to school for journalism from 1986-1990. Right before the internet boom hit. In school they taught us what we were supposed to do in the world of old media. Our job was to be a mirror. Our job was to use our access to show the general public what was going on. We were also supposed to be the watchdog for the society. Placed there to keep those in power honest."

Does Chara deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as those?
