Yes I agree, I really tried to understand the logic behind the claims Benning has control going forward, but no matter how you work it out, it’s these 2 players that have control over their status not Benning.
- Makita

Benning's/Aqua's complete control: buyouts and sending players to the AHL

Benning's/Aqua's partial control with one extra party (not the player): trades (minus NTC), LTIR

Benning's/Aqua's partial control with the player involved: trades (with NTC), MTA

Player's complete control: retirement

That about sums it up?

Sharks not letting Marleau just retire already is also weird but I guess they want a mentor during a tank year
- Nucker101

I think he only has to play 45 more games and he breaks Gordie Howe’s all-time NHL record for most games played, in the NHL, Gordie played more when you combine the WHA and NHL.

Starting to see more and more fans at sporting events in the US. The AHL has stated they are starting the season on Dec.1 - The only two Canadian teams Toronto, Laval - could probably be asked to relocate like the Jays had to do until Border restrictions change??? Keep in mind this is All pure speculation. BUT if that happens then... Eriksson taking the Karl Alzner route I think is quite likely - play in Utica for this year then perhaps buyout next year.

More and more fans... for now. Winter is coming up, with cases in the US steadily increasing. I wonder how long before states start to shut things down again?

Then again, 'Merica, so maybe they're just powering through?

Per @DhaliwalSports: Justin Bailey, Guillaume Brisebois, Jalen Chatfield turned down qualifying offers, but all continue to discuss deals with the #Canucks. Could get done by later in the week.

Nothing about Eriksson's MTA? Benning declaring Ferland unfit to play, anything?

Dude, come on... we all know that at the end of the month Benning is going to free up 9.5 shmillion by telling LE and Ferland to go on LTIR, then he's going to call Bettman and say "Gary, you little biatch, you're going to allow me to play these guys on LTIR during the offseason".

Like the biatch that Bettman is, he's going to fold like laundry and give the J -Bebs exactly what he wants. Because Benning is the man and Benning wants 9.5m in cap space by November.

Man it's a whole different animal down there - I'm not gonna pretend to understand it.
This is just a guess but I don't think they shut down or move backwards. I think they keep plowing ahead (slowly) regardless of the increase in numbers. NASCAR (I know it doesn't compare to hockey) had 30,000 fans at some races back in July - College football are allowing 5,000+ fans now. 12,000 last night at the Dodgers game. Cleveland/Cincinnati will have 11,000+ for NFL next week. Varying from State to state but I think once it gets closer to training camps we'll see the NHL/NBA follow in their footsteps. Then trickle down to the AHL, ECHL.

Good morning,

New blog is up. Some thoughts on arbitration led me down a Gustav Forsling rabbit hole, which led me to prospects playing in Europe, which led me to World Juniors.

Hopefully it all fits together?
