As a Central Florida native and Tampa sports fan since I can remember I have to say this year is SO FLORIDA and TAMPA in regards to the Lightning winning the Stanley Cup thousands of miles away and now the Rays going to the world series while playing thousand of miles of away with no fans in the stands. But I will take it, Go Rays lets do the Double.

Thank god they knocked off those cheaters.

Rays are a fun team to watch. I can’t stand the Braves or Dodgers, so I wish Tampa The best to get their second championship this year

The Red Sox and Patriots delivered for Boston as recently as 2018, but Wikipedia shows it to be an incredibly rare feat. In fact, the NHL + MLB combination hasn’t occurred since 1933 in New York, if Wikipedia’s sourcing is accurate.

I believe the Devils and Yankees also both won in 2000. They don't use the same metro area name the way Rays/Lightning do; but Meadowlands and Yankee Stadium are actually a lot closer together than Tropicana and Amalie are. Red Wings & Tigers (& Lions actually) in 35 as well. Interestingly, if Dodgers win it all, you get the even more rare NBA/MLB combo, only happened twice compared to the NHL/MLB 4 times.

Philly sent 4 in the 1980 season (but 81 Super Bowl)

Ofc in Philly fashion, they only won one. The Phils.

They are now. In 2000, they played in Meadowlands Arena (whatever it was called at the time).

Sorry but the Rays probably won’t get it done and the Bucs will be 3-3 after today. But the Bolts are champions. The Rays will be at a disadvantage in Dallas, they’ll be fans in the stands.

You are correct. The Devils played at Brendan Byrne Arena which was at Meadowlands.

The Rays are a great team. Don’t watch a ton of baseball, but saw them in series vs Yankees. Handled the Yanks with about 1/3 the payroll. Pretty amazing. Good luck.

I've never been a baseball fan. Just not my cup of tea.

Back in the early 90's, I went to a Yankees spring training game. The weather was beautiful, we had some cold beers and it was a good time. This was a year or two before the Lightning came into the league.
