Winnipeg could be very, very bad this year. Good goaltending can't compensate for the weak defense.

1. Toronto, Edmonton
.
3 Vancouver
4. Calgary
5. Montreal
6. Winnipeg
7. Ottawa

I'll try

Elite big guy defenceman with a Canon of a shot.
Weber equals Myers
Elite puck mover defenceman in Hughes is mirrored with .... Edmonson?
Franchise center Peterson equals kotencandy
2 way second line center Horvat mirrored by ...Suzuki?
Snipping winger Boeser is like Drouin
Elite goaltender Holtby is basically price...

(frank), I can't do this, no way, sorry but the Canadians are nothing like the nucks, can't compare them.

Weber and Meyers comparison

Who is the Habs core?

Kotkaniemi is 20, Suzuki 21, Drouin 25. They added Anderson at 26. Their back end is older with no Hughes type, but Weber is still a beast and Price is their Marky.

Their future isn't shaping up as well as ours, but that team isn't a slouch if/when they're in the same division next seaon.

- NewYorkNuck

I agree suzuki and kokt looked very good in the playoffs. I think you guys must not have watched those games. Both look very legit in their roles.[img][/img]

I agree mostly with this.

1. Toronto
2. Edmonton
3. Calgary/Vancouver/Winnipeg
4. Calgary/Vancouver/Winnipeg
5. Calgary/Vancouver/Winnipeg
6. Montreal
7. Ottawa

Winnipeg is always difficult, but having a condensed schedule and getting another Vezina performance out of Hellebyuck is going to be tough for them.

Toronto and Edmonton are going to crash out in the first round of the playoffs, mind you.

They're both big right hand shots with canons.

Some one suggested that the Canadiens where basically us, I'm just trying to find similarities.....

Toss up between Cal and Van depending on how goalies turn out. 2 goalie system isn't going to be as big of a factor.

In 2013 they played 48 games in 99 days and most the best teams didn't have good duos, they had good teams. Chicago had the best record with Crawford/Emery, best goalie was Bob with 38 games but Rask and Lundquist were right behind him playing 36 and 43 games, Crawford and Schneider only played 30 but Neimi played 43.

They had .924 to .932 sv% and Hellybyuk won the Vezina with a .922 for reference this year.

Ottawa had the best duo in Anderson .941/24 games and Lehner .936/ 12 games but only won 17 between them.

I can't see why people keep putting Winnipeg at the top, their team is in shambles, weak to four, 4 good players in their top 6, great goalie but I don't see him repeating last year.
Same with Montreal although I don't see their top 6 being anywhere close to Edmonton or Toronto.

Because they had 37 wins last year before the stoppage. Their goaltending is Vezina quality and their forward group is deep with talent in the top six now that they picked up Stastny for the 2C position.

Scheifele, Stastny, Wheeler, Laine, Ehlers, Connor.....that’s a good top six!!

If the Jets are in trouble so are the Canucks my friend.

A good read on cap issues for ten teams, and yes, the Canucks are one of them. Arizona is a hot mess....wow Chayka was a horrible GM.

Exactly. Their D last year is the same as the D this year. People were harking on them for having poop D and they did just fine. Canucks always struggle with them too, so playing them 6-8 times in a season does not help us and elevates them.

We're not talking about the playoffs really, we're talking about the regular season and where each team is going to land. They're a playoff team, the Canucks are on the bubble.

I'd say the Canadian division is pretty tough for the Canucks.

TO has been a top team
Flames got better in the short term
Winnipeg is perpetually tough to deal with
Edmonton is so spotty
Montreal is kinda like Van
Ottawa is poop

I could see Van finishing anywhere from 3rd to 5th.

I stand corrected.... wait, nope, looks like that's you... kinda
