Bill any free agents out there you see the flyers having any interest in if the price was right? - login
I still think Fletcher would like to add a D, even though they've got 8 right now. I think there's a similar situation at forward, where there's bit of a logjam on the wings yet a need for a goal-scoring winger (and a question mark at 3C).
If Travis Hamonic would reconsider coming back east for a year (which he very well might not want to do, especially given his young daughter's health issues and faced with a choice of either being away from the family an extended time or temporarily uprooting the family), I think there'd be interest here for a year.
I could also see a player like Erik Haula being of interest at the right price as insurance in case Patrick isn't ready to go.
Both are the type of players that Chuck tends to like; of course, he was together with Haula in Minnesota previously.
Do you think elliot D May have a similar trajectory as Noah cates? Or am I off base there.
Also good to see German with 18 plus mins. Get that confidence back. - Peter Richards
It's very early with Desnoyers but the Flyers made a point of saying that think there is more to him than just being very sound off-puck. So far, now that he's in more of an offensive role with his new team, it looks like they might be right.

Thanks. For most accounts I think this was a good draft. Time will tell but seems like we could have 3 from this class in the nhl in the future

For some reason my quote button won't show quote's so I have to copy and paste.
So Bill, I assume you are thinking that Fletcher would go the trade route otherwise it would make no sense to carry 8-9 defensemen and it would make no sense to stick a player who has proven himself {Hagg, Ghost,} at the NHL level back in the minors not to mention that they even have a couple including Friedman in the minors that deserves a chance to be called up.
What do you have in mind ?

What about guys like AA or Duclair? I get we have "a logjam" of wingers and ones we feel might be ready to contribute, but if there was anything that stood out during both playoff series... it was our lack of speed and scoring. AA and Duclair are both fast, both 25 or younger, both have a shoot first mentality, and both will be signing on the cheap if the market holds. These are assets. If you can get them both on the cheap, it makes it easier to eat half of jvrs salary and move him.(I am not one of the people who thinks JVR is bad...he was one of our better regular season fwds)... but I'd rather pay 9mil and have AA and AD and half jvrs salary, than 7mil and have jvr.
AD on a wing with G and coots.
AA on wing with 13 and 93.
23 and 11 on frost/Patrick wings
Laughts and Farabee on whoever our 4C is. I like these lines. Thoughts?

DuClair has been tried and discarded by five organizations despite a pair of 20-goal seasons and blazing speed. Why? Because, as Tortorella put it when the player was with Columbus, he has "bad listening skills." He also disappears for months at a time after teasing with flashes of his abilities.
Athanasiou isn't interested in competing if things aren't going his way, doesn't use his linemates, doesn't backcheck and generally has the rep of a malcontent. Yes, he can fly and sometimes scores gorgeous goals.

Yes, I think Fletcher would like to trade Ghost without giving him away or eating salary, and then obtaining a different D to pair with Provorov on the right side. But that's easier said than done because few teams are willing to absorb salary.

If we would be interested in any of the remaining ufa’s. I would be interested in soderberg. Don’t think we could afford. I could see them interested in brassard first one year. Can play center and wing. Also may be able to chip in points. This To me means patty isn’t with the team to start the year. Otherwise don’t spend the money.
