If Tim Kerr had better luck with his health, he likely scores 500 goals.

Cam Neely 395 goals in 726 games
Tim Kerr 370 goals in 655 games

It’s a joke that Neely is in the HoF and Kerr isn’t.

Brian Propp, one of my favorite players and favorite Flyers. I am most fondest of that 80's team, they were home grown for the most part and had lots of skill, grit and character. Its a shame they never won the cup, they were so close but unfortunately they had to go up against probably the greatest hockey team ever in Edmonton and on top of that had unfortunate injuries, and worse, at key times. Also who knew how abusive Mike Keenan was to the team behind the scenes? That team fought and clawed through so much adversity, they should go down as one the best Flyers' teams ever! Brian Propp was a big part of this!

For sure, I totally agree. I find something interesting however; I hear this a lot about Tim Kerr (and I am very fond of him as a player) but I don't hear this same sentiment about Eric Lindros, in terms of "Hey with better health Lindros would have scored way over 500 goals ...". I wonder if this is simply because of likability? At the time I hated what became of Lindros, his constant whining and complaining, fighting with Clarke and the medical staff, his father involved, etc. None of this happened with Tim Kerr. Never heard a peep about blaming the Flyers doctors for his injuries. I think that is why more fans love Tim Kerr, and don't have that same feeling about Lindros. Now fast forward to present day, I have a lot of appreciation with what Lindros has done in terms of bringing awareness to the horrors of repeated concussions, and I think all players owe Lindros a debt of gratitude. But that the time Lindros was playing, it felt so awful to see what Lindros was doing, while Forsberg was wining cups with Colorado.

I think because in Lindros’ case it’s just so obvious that with better health he’s a 500 goal, 1200 point player. That’s probably why folks don’t bring it up much.

760 games 372 goals, 463 assists 865 points

If he had just played 1000 games you’d be looking at something like 490 goals and 1135 points based on his career output. And that includes his last few seasons when he was a shell of the player he was in his prime. Take away the concussions and factor in a few more years at or near his peak and it’s probably more like 550 goals and 1300 points in 1000 games.

Recchi and Tocchet had the same number of goals in roughly the same number of games? I had no idea.

The key differentiator is that Cam Neely played sea bass in dumb and dumber. That automatically qualifies him IMO.

100% agree. The '85-'87 teams were so, so good. It was so much fun to watch them. Kerr, Propp, Poulin, McCrimmon, and Howe are my favorite actual Flyers fivesome.

Yes, no doubt if Lindros played more healthy games he would of had great stats, but if you project Tim Kerr's numbers to 1000 games, Kerr would have had 565 goals and he is also a clear Hall of Famer. Not many players can boast 4 straight 50 goal seasons, take almost an entire year off because of injury and then score 48 more goals in only 69 games the following year! That is Mike Bossy like if you ask me. BTW, just my opinion, Mike Bossy was the greatest goal scorer in NHL history. Project Bossy's numbers with just 5 more seasons in his career, that was abruptly cut short!

If I could create a Flyers all time line to play today In their primes would be as follows.

LW- John Leclair
C- Eric Lindros
RW- Tim Kerr

Mark Howe
Chris Pronger

G- Pelle Lindbergh

With all due respect to Clarke and company but I grew up watching the 80s teams.

With all due respect I watched both. Clarke and Barber are my first team. No disrespect to John or Eric. Loved Eric. Both him and Clarkie made everyone better but there will never be leader that was respected like Clarke.
