I could see Dostal joining the Gulls next season (if eligible). He would be an emergency call up if necessary. He plays one season, and if exceptional/very good, joins the Ducks the following year as their b/u. Possible 2 years as a Gulls goalie, but thinking only 1 if he performs above average.
Counting this year, Gibson has 7 years left on his contract. Say Dostal is the Ducks b/u in 22/23. At the end of that season, Gibson will have 4 yrs left on his contract. He would command a very good return in a trade. Even if they keep the same tandem the following season, Gibson's trade value would still be high. I think moving Dostal now would be a mistake.

I'm agnostic on this. I think Dostal is by far a better prospect. I don't think the return would be anything significant. Let him play in SD as their b/u.
