The Newark Bulldogs jerseys were mostly black with white stripes. They could do a great Bulldogs Jersey with the Devils logo and Bulldogs on the shoulders.

All of these are somewhat different to the one Bulldogs Jersey hanging in Prudential Center.

I like the look of these Bulldogs sweaters but they look almost the same as the original Hawks sweaters that are black and white. Maybe a mock up in red and black would set them apart but maybe it was just too close to looking like another team's look that they wanted to go with something that was unique to the Devils.

Hello all, over at the Athletic the beat writer for the Blackhawks wrote what he missed about hockey, in reference for the Devils he said this and i know a few people on here will appreciate it:

In New Jersey, I miss a monstrous pastrami on rye with matzo-ball soup at Hobby’s Deli. (You also can order the King Henrik soup, but it costs $19.94 and only comes in bowls — no Cups.)

It's a reverse original jersey.
I do like the Green being the focal point.

But I also wish, as I have for years, they came up with a black dominant jersey.

- Devils Advocate

Yea, none of the jerseys are exact replicas of from back whenever- they're unique spins that incorporate a retro jersey. i like the green more the more I see it. clean and great colors.

I really liked going to some place local that served meals better then the stadium fare. Everyone I went to a game with enjoyed the adventure of dining locally an eating in a place that has been around forever. For Devils fans, the connection they've built with the team is nice. I've missed the place. Some nights the Pastrami was better then the game....

It's Mickey Mouse Day!

On this day (November 19, 1983) 37 years ago, the Devils were criticized by Wayne Gretzky after a 13–4 loss to the Edmonton Oilers. In a post-game interview, Gretzky said that the Devils were "putting a Mickey Mouse operation on the ice." Later, Gretzky said that his comment was "blown out of proportion." In response, many Devils fans wore Mickey Mouse apparel when the Oilers returned to New Jersey on January 15, 1984, despite a 5–4 loss.

And I still hate Gretzky

I remember this, it seems like yesterday. The Devils got more press for this then the entire franchise had received since inception in KC. Yeah, I hated Gretzky for a long time, and never stopped booing him when I had the chance. Time has softened that stance now.....

I agree. The booing was so much fun every time Wayne came back to NJ

I think I told you guys about when I was a teenager I ended up going to a game with my girlfriend on Halloween. We actually beat the oilers pretty solidly and better then half the crowd was in costume singing "who's the leader of the club that's made for you and me... M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E." Possibly alternated with a FU WAYNE chant....

When we won the cup in '95 and they had the party in the Brendan Byrne parking lot there was a guy walking around with a sign that said "Hey Wayne, who's Mickey Mouse Now?" with a drawing of Mickey flipping the bird. I have a picture somewhere....

Boy did we take abuse from Rags fans. "Parking lot? Can't even have a real parade?" etc etc. Or the other comments "asterick - not a full season".

When they say ‘asterisk’ I always say that OK, we got two more ‘asterisk free’. But really the first one was arguably the hardest path to the cup of the three we won...

That said it was pretty stark between the Byrne parking lot and the canyon of heroes. But things are never easy for the Devils and that who we are. Newark isn’t New York City. But (frank) it. It’s now home. Anyone can be popular in one of the largest cities in the world (except sadly the NY Americans). But for us, we earn what we get.

On this day in 1982, the Devils lost to the LA Kings 3-0 at the Great Western Forum in LA to fall to 3-15-6. Chico Resch stopped 20 of 23 shots before being removed in the 3rd for Shawn MacKenzie (WHO?). Devils were out shot 28-16

Notable players on the ice:

NJD - Aaron Broten, Mike Kitchen, Carol Vadnais and Bob Lorimer
LAK - Marcel Dionne, Larry Murphy, Charlie Simmer and Dave Lewis

It's not often I see a Devil's player that I've never heard of before, but you got me.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shawn_MacKenzie

That article from Wiki seems wrong. Other sites show he played in a total of 6 games. The 130 Minutes is consistent.

Yeah, seems he had a short cup of coffee with the team. Perhaps you can use this for bar room trivia?

Nobody would get that right!

I probably told you the greatest hockey trivia (and a huge moneymaker for bar betting) is ask someone who was the first American/US team to win the Stanley Cup. The answer is the 1917 Seattle Metropolitans (who won it before the NHL formed). The same Seattle team also refused to accept a 2nd cup win when the Montreal Canadiens offered to forfeit the cup because of an outbreak of Spanish Flu that sickened several players. Seattle declined, saying if they could not earn the cup on the ice they didn't deserve it either. An this was 5 games into the series already with each team having two wins and one game ended in a 2OT 0-0 tie.

The Stanley Cup actually had an engraving added for 1919 which says the two team names and notes the series as incomplete.
