Anthony, I agree with you a little more red on the Jersey would have been nice.
Right now, I don't know what to make of the jersey. I will have more of an opinion once I see them wear the jerseys on the ice. |

Not sure how much input teams has vs league has but Jets, and actually all the Canadian teams are amongst the worst ones. Jets could be the worst!
LA Kings, NJ and NYR’s all have a very good look IMO |

Anthony Travalgia: Jets unveil Reverse Retro jersey
On Monday the Winnipeg Jets unveiled their Reverse Retro jersey, joining the rest of the National Hockey League in doing so. - Anthony.Travalgia
Personally, what I saw of the Jets uniforms, I thought they were gawd-awful!
Kind of reminds me of the year 2020 thus far - dreary and dreadful. Is that what the designer wanted? Surely they should have a re-make or re-take or whatever. |

Should have been a red version of the 1979 jersey. Reverse retro right? That grey is dreary and horrible. At least you’re not the red wings!!! |

Looks like an All Star Game jersey. Could definitely use a splash of colour |

it needs some red. repeating myself but it reminds me of the bombers alternative that wasn't blue/gold but rather more like the argos. embarassing. |

Why aren't Arizona using the Jets 1.0 logo as part of their retro uniform? It seems so many people expect Winnipeg to pay homage to Atlanta so why not other teams that started out in other cities? This Jet uniform is ugly. |

The Jet's retro jersey may actually be the worst in the NHL. Just horrible. |

The same way the Flames have completely not acknowledged their Atlanta history. |

Isn't the A on the Flames assistant captains jerseys the old Atlanta Flames symbol? |

Apparently Adidas had three prototypes for each team and the teams got to pick which one would be the new third jersey, wonder what the other two Jets jerseys looked like, this one is pretty dull imo. |

This jersey COULD work. Mistakes were made, and unfortunately it’s the case for a lot of teams that after the teaser images dropped, the fan-made predicted jerseys ended up being better than the final reveal.
-Why did they not match the waist stripes to the shoulders? Separating the navy from the grey would’ve made it less dreary.
-Why did they not make the numbers navy blue with the thicker white outline? Properly matching the layout with the classic design?
-Why did they choose to randomly introduce aviator blue in the numbers and the logo? A: that’s a sacred jersey no-no, and B: the colour doesn’t stand out. It just bleeds into the slush grey.
It’s the same issue with the logo. You need to separate the blue from the grey, and white is so perfect. Make the logo navy with a white border, and have some red details on it AWAY from the damn grey. You can have one-time colours in the logo, like the main jerseys do, but it can’t work in contact with the the bulk of the jersey. Only in the logo.
Long story short, they swung, and they missed. |

I think the jersey is okay. It didn't blow me away but it was all right. I'm sure the color combinations will grow on me just as I felt neutral about the 2011 jersey when it was revealed. I would of preferred a blue base to the grey but it's probably because, that's what we are used to. Once we see the Jets skating in warm-up wearing them, it might change everything. I'm still a homer and pre-ordered one. I suspect the Jets chose to use the 79-80 jersey in a way to pay tribute to the Dale Hawerchuk era just as they changed the 10 year crest to his number.
I suspect this will be the new thing for revenue that the NHL creates for revenue as outdoor games will be off the table for a couple of years. I'm sure the NHL will exploit this concept until people stop buying. In the future, I would love the Jets to take a concept further than the 90s Jets jerseys and look at the old Winnipeg Falcons jersey or the 1948 Royal Canadian Air Force jerseys that won Olympic Gold. Those jerseys inspired our current Jets jerseys and I would love an alternate that paid respect to that.
To those Jets fans complaining about this jersey should maybe just look again at the Maple Leafs jersey. It looks like a hideous beer league jersey. My favorites that pay tribute to their original cities are the Wild and the Kings. I love the Whalers and Nordiques jerseys but I wonder how those cities feel about the city that stole their teams paying tribute to their team. It's kind of like when Phoenix had Dale Hawerchuk night. It probably doesn't feel right.

Quotes not working, but I believe the long vertical stripes along the arms were their attempt at incorporating Atlanta’s previous jersey design without actually upsetting the jets faithful by choosing a non-Jets logo. |

If you’re referring to the shoulder stripes, they’re an homage to the old 1979 Jets uniforms. Similar to why the Jets current away jersey has the navy down the shoulders and arms |

Certainly a cash grab. Not sure they will sell many this season should we have one.
Hate these kind of promotions, Jets have a great uniform now (and had before) so let's see more of same. I, for one, won't be buying/wearing any retro jersey.
Whenever I watch the Jets, and they are not in regular jerseys, some very nasty words come spewing out of my mouth! |
