Once we are allowed back into stadiums and arena's, i will be back vaccianted or not as i feel more then comfortable. That said, to each their own. Life will return to normal at some point but its up to each individual to move on as they see fit. What most folks do not want is someone telling them how they should feel or act regarding a Post-Covid world

Other than removing my shoes at airports, aren't we pretty much back to the way things were pre-9/11?

The one Wild Card here is the State and Local Health Authorities. They are nixing plans to allow fans for the 49ers, the Raiders, and now SF has nixed the Warriors plans to allow fans in who have passed a Rapid Test. I suspect that we will have a limited number of fans allowed in limited number of arenas, beginning in Feb 2021 at the earliest.
I too am totally turned off by the BLM/SJW mania that is sweeping North America. Colin Kaepernick is now calling for the release of Cop Killers, and he has supported organizations named for them as well. I have zero sympathy for anyone who associates with him. What has been missing in the medias very biased messaging is what your Mom told you: There are 2 sides to every story. BLM and the media want to make you think that cops are racist and violent killers of innocent people of color. What they leave out is the following: For the past 20 years, according to the FBI UCI Stats, 160 Police Officers have been assaulted every day or one every 9 minutes; 47 Police Officers are injured or killed every day of those 20 years or 1 in every 30 minutes. Police officers are shot every 3hours 43 minutes, stabbed every 8 hours, injured or killed with what the FBI describes as "dangerous weapons" every 75 minutes and then the rest are hands and feet. Think unarmed men aren't a threat? They kill more people every year than those killed by all rifles and shotguns combined. They kill more in any 2 consecutive years than all of the victims of mass assault rifle killings since 1966.
A suspect is killed in less than 2% of the cases an officer is assaulted and in less than 6% of the cases one is injured or killed. For every Black man shot, 61 police officers are injured or killed. Which is the bigger threat to society? Every City that wants to Defund the Police is seeing gigantic leaps in violent crimes and law abiding citizens are not safe. California has basically legalized theft with the passage of Prop 47 and SF has just seen its 3rd Walgreens close due to the rampant looting that takes place. They are not the only ones by a longshot..although I do kinda smile when the looters hit the medical marijuana stores...
So, will I go to games? Yes...but not to support BLM/SJW but because hockey is the best spectator sport on earth...

Kooleus.....So the First Amendment does not apply if you do not agree with it? Right. If players wearing BLM t-shirts offends you to the point that you won't go to games anymore or become disinterested in general, then you were never much of a fan in the first place.
- Bufsaints8

You no nothing about me. I also never said anything about players wearing a BLM shirt. Go ahead. Wear them. And if the next players wants to wear a MAGA t-shirt that's cool too. And if another guy has a blue flag to support law enforcement that's cool too. So is a rainbow wig. Go ahead guys. But don't take a microphone and preach to me. There is one anthem. Stand for it. If players don't like it, start your own league.

Rapid, accurate testing will be more important to getting fans into games in the short term than vaccines. GS Warriors is exploring using new testing technologies that gives 99% accurate results in 15 minutes. They want to move to 50% capacity and have been studying the logistics of how to make this work.

FDA recently approved the tests and the company is ramping up production. This should be useful sooner and more widely than vaccines.

- Canada Cup

I would love to see how they think it can work.

Administering tests to 10,000 people, then telling them to come back in 15 minutes and we will see whether we can let you in or not.

That's a very tough thing to do in an hour.

In my opinion, the league could careless about these social causes. They do bare minimum to be able to simply say they did something. All while trying to thread needle of trying not the piss off the fans who want zero politics or social agendas in their sports.

I agree. It's all about the money for the league and that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. They just want to keep the fans happy without pi$$ing off the players (and vice versa.)

With respect to the anthem, I have never understood why it's played during sports (excluding international competition.).

Don't want players kneeling? Don't play any anthems.

Why some people need the anthem played during sports says as much about them than it does about the players who kneel for it.

When there's a 50/50 split, is bring politics into your sport a good idea?

I don't know, not an expert. Maybe EK can do a poll. Stand, kneel, don't care.

Up until a few years ago, it was about respect for country. Now it's injustice.
Lots of different, valid to bring up, but before puck drop? or tip off?

Get rid of the anthems? or should we ALL kneel? (that seems kinda big brother but trying to find a middle ground)

I just wanna see hockey

This.
Do you hate your country if you're going for a pee, lining up for a hot dog & beer or waiting to buy a programme during the anthem?

By that logic, isn't "requiring" people to stand to express support of the country even more big brother?

as a Canuck season ticket holder I would wait on the concourse until the anthems were over and then take my seat. Never understood why national anthems were played for city vs city competitions.

I think it's great that players form their own opinions. But don't express that in the workplace.

If I own a plumbing company, I would assume each of my plumbers has their own political opinions. But when I send you out to someone's home I expect you to work as a plumber, and not make some political statement that your customers don't care about. When the day is over, I don't care what T-shirt you want to wear. I don't care what rally or protests you attend. I don't care about your personal twitter. But when you show up to work tomorrow morning, all the politics stops, you put on our uniform, and you go out and deliver great service to customers. It's not that complicated.

So, what I'm hearing you say is that if they work for you, you quash their constitutional amendment rights.
