Gino Odjick had 16 goals in 1994...actually quite impressive.

In retrospect they should’ve kept Peca and continued to build, kid was a gamer, he was a playoff battle tested guy. Oh well, this is why we’ve never won a Cup
- Pacificgem

Yup, Mogilny was great though.

Me too. I just laugh when the kid gets penciled in the top 6 before setting foot on NA ice.
- VanHockeyGuy

Dude, ELC and the flat cap, he needs to play in the top 3

"
- Pacificgem[Höglander's] improved throughout this summer, very dedicated to his own development. His shot has gotten even harder, it’s NHL-plus level for sure."

"I think everyone within the [#Canucks] will be very impressed with him."

Rögle BK GM Chris Abbott on Nils Höglander

Canucks have always had talented players and entertaining teams but never was able to parlay that into a championship.

I can’t figure out why the planets never aligned. Must be conspiracy holding us back!

He was 10th overall in 1988?

Edit: oh...I get it, you’re saying he’s Teemu

- Pacificgem

No silly, his open ice hit on Teemu (given, it was a little late) that knocked out cold.

That’s when he got the nickname Captain Crunch wasn’t it? One of the great hockey handles.

If Steve Smith hadn’t ended Bure’s season that could have been a special year for the Canucks. Imagine two 50 goal scorers!

He's the first sub in for the top 6. Pod currently holds that spot.

Who is going to disband Trudeau and this corrupt government then? They are far worse than the general population of our RCMP.
- Shuswap Wap

lol why worry about Trudeau when his politics/corruption align with the narratives pitched in here?

No No No we need to focus on the 150 year history of the RCMP and how every single member regardless of race, gender and what have you are racist, misogynistic homophobes based off 'recent reports'

Small in stature means he needs an extremely strong core and big powerful legs, which he has, another kid who it’ll be interesting to see if they can bring their game to NA ice and compete with NHL talent.

It's the fact that the members of the force who are racist, who are, homophobes, who are misogynistic are protected by the system. The fact that they need to be held to the same, if not higher standards then the plebiscite, but historically haven't.
The fact that the old guard can withhold backup to force their bigotry on whistle-blowers is wrong.
I believe that the issues are systemic and need to be addressed externally, as the report says, which would be dismantling and reassembling the force.
This isn't too say that there are not good people in the force, probably not all 1940s nazi party members were evil, but they stood by silently and watched as evil occurred, hence all nazi members are evil mother (frank)ers, period.
By the same token, the fact that "good police" stand by a evil cops do evil, makes them evil by association.
The police of 20/30 years ago are different then the ones on the force now, don't take it personally but, ACAB, because they choose to join, they choose to stand by and allow evil to occur, whether individually they are good people doesn't matter. The uniform is corrupt and stands for evil.
