Because for a good portion of their base, they aren't brainwashed. It's a mantra they've had engrained into their DNA or have chosen to believe, and Trump just happens to be a big loud mouth piece echoing things they want to hear and already believe. Hard to brainwash people who are already eager to believe everything you say to begin with. Nobody cares about actual facts or news anymore, they just flock to whatever talking head is going to parrot whatever they want to hear and justify their own personal beliefs. Why bother facing reality with so many news outlets willing to bend the truth or just outright lie to you with the exact misinformation you've already been preconditioned to believe? Why does the far right believe what they do? Because for decades they've had it beaten into their brains that all lefty's are Socialists Satanists coming to steal their guns.

Nobody can agree to have a difference of opinion anymore. It's either believe exactly what I believe or you're the enemy and I'm going to do everything in my power to demonize you. It's absurd. Relatives shouldn't be refusing to talk to each other, or friends shouldn't be ending long time friendships because one of them posted on facebook they voted for the guy they didn't like...

Biden is as middle of the road as you get to the point that the MAJOR concern about his nomination after the primary was that he'd struggle to get enough votes from the progressive wing of the Democrats to beat Trump.

Well Ek was the only talking about the Flames signing Markstrom and he totally nailed that one. So there's that. We also will never know how close some of his other rumours came true. Like he had Lundquist going to the Devils due to the convenience factor. In the end he went to Washington, but maybe he took a long look at New Jersey right? In the end, Washington is sort of convenient to New York. I could see him keeping his place in New York and hanging out there if they get a few days off. Otherwise, maybe he just rents an apartment in Washington for awhile.
