Lyrically easily among my favorite songs, seen it performed several times live, best was Dylan with the Band as his back up, second was Dylan with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers as the backup, third was with Furthur a few summers ago.

It is a great song. I always thought Country Joe had the same feel (without the same Dylan-ness) with Sweet Lorraine.
Was Furthur the backup band he was doing his kind of lounge singer act with? If so, I’ve seen two of the three you mentioned. Them at Desert Trip and him and the Band

No Furthur never backed anyone to my knowledge. They were formed by Bob Weir and Phil Lesh in 2009. Playing smaller venues - mostly outdoor. Fantastic stuff, fans (self-included) would line up after the show to get a CD (usually 3 discs) of an excellent soundboard recording of the show to listen to for the drive home.

If the 6th or 7th d-man in the depth chart is your biggest gripe, then things are not so bad. One add at the trade deadline could put the weakest d-man out of a job easily. - winsix

Sloppy reading. The three times you heard the song performed. Liked that Bloomfield bit. Made me think of the Al Kooper version of Blood, Sweat and Tears. Some nice guitar work by Steve Katz here.
By the way, I’m completely fixated by piano. It’s all I play now, trying to figure it out. What a blast.

Always liked Al Kooper's keyboards, his work on Highway 61 with Bloomfield was terrific. Still think that first Blood Sweat and Tears album was their best.

Still gotta pay him 2mil - Arctic_AARDVARK
True, and Ottawa pays Bobby Ryan $3.58 million to scratch his ass, and Nucks pay Eriksson $6 Million to score 8 points a year and Montreal pays Alzner $3.9 million to blow farts in his bathtub. The million dollar overpay for a third pairing RHD is no biggie.

Cheap players didn’t cost miss/make the PO’s. Value is in results not how it’s spent.

Real and measurable results will appear when things return to some degree of normality. Not convinced that Holtby can put up numbers that Markstrom put up last season, we'll see. Also not convinced that JT Miller will somehow score 20 points more than his previous high. In a regular 82 game season, IMO they will be fighting for a playoff spot, doubt the same is true for the Leafs. Sorry
