You have to forgive those who voted to give him a C-grade. They are clearly suffering the adverse effects of a traumatic brain injury.

Point was an absolute beast. Nobody could keep him consistently in check without giving Kuch too much room.

My favorite goal from Point these playoffs was his opening minute goal against the Islanders

I think the rest of the hockey world now knows how good Brayden Point really is and even still I think people will continue to under rate him.

So, tell me if this is true.
After tying to trade and waive (for the purpose of ridding him from the line up), Tyler Johnson is still a Bolt. It has been reported that JBB now wishes to trade TJ FOR a 1st rounder instead of WITH a 1st rounder! Is this JBB's attempt at some Jedi mind trick?

Guess we will see if the Padawan JBB becomes a Master Jedi like Yzerman...

I personally still don't think he needs to give up a first with Johnson to move him but I also don't think he would get a first back either. I would assume he would have to give up something though.

Its going to be real interesting to see how it all plays out for the Lightning. I don't think we will see any action until the opening day is determined and then deadlines get put into place.

Seems as though you very well may be correct. Personally I believe JBB will have to move 2-3 vets because he is unwilling to part with bigger assets (a grade A prospect or a 1st) and will have to eat salary to move them.

At this point, I'd be happy if we retained 25-33% plus sweeten the deal with a mid-round pick.

That probably won't happen though - the Bolts have zero leverage.

Question: If TB retained $2M of TJ's salary, can the team that acquires him flip him to another team and retain half of their salary ($1.5M of the remaining $3M) or would the CBA limit them to only half of TJ's original salary and they can retain only $.5M more???

No the rest of the hockey world knows. Read the pundits in other cities. Point does it all.

OMG TYLER JOHNSON HAS LOST A COUPLE OF STEPS...that contract at 30 y/o makes me h8m 3 steps slower. Tampa needs to pony up!

To move TJ needs to be a first and none of Tampa’s prospects are enticing.

AAV on TJ’s contract is $5 million a bunch of nhl owners do not even want to play this season, who wants 4 years of that in a pandemic with no fannies in the seats?

It’s gonna cost!

There's been a few rumblings that a deal of some kind is in the works. I am curious to see what happens. The consensus seems to be a 1st to move Johnson. Let's see if padiwan Briesbois picked up any skills from master Yzerman.

Johnson (retain $1M) and Killorn and a 3rd to Detroit for Nielsen ($2.625M retained),
TB cuts $5.725M in salary and a 1st was not required! You gets a 3rd or 4th line C that is a PK specialist and all around good guy who only makes $2.65M AAV for 2 more yrs. And now you can sign Sergachev and Cernak and you only have to figure a move to get Cirreli under contract!
