Bill, Is there any particular reason why Zamula is not playing in Europe?

He wanted to train over here, won't have to quarantine before camp (whenever that will be).

Thanks, I was just thinking since he lost so much time last year and the AHL is so questionable, actually playing might really benefit him in particular.

If Morin was /is cleared to play imo he should have went that route. This way flyers still have his rights and he gets into games.

Not really concerned about Morin. There is just no room for him on the roster. IMO he doesn’t get extended beyond this season irregardless of how his rehab goes.

Correct no room and he needs to play. Europe would have been a good option to see what he can do. I agree about getting resigned. Maybe an ahl deal only.

If the Flyers make a move such as trading Gostisbehere without a defenseman coming back then there is potentially an open spot on the roster for a defenseman.

Not really as they still have Freidman to be the #7. Plus him taking up a roster spot without playing is bad for both parties if their is a minor league season.

Friedman would be an option to fill that opening. So your comment of not really is not well thought out. There are currently 7 potential NHL defenseman that as of now would make up the 7 defenseman if they choose to carry 7, which most teams do. So if one is removed, via trade, then there is an opening for the 7th defenseman slot. No where did I state that Morin would automatically fill that slot.

It is well thought out. Friedman is #8 on the depth chart; therefore he slides into the #7 slot. So I don't see the potential for another opening on defense. Especially the way the GM talks about Freidman. I am sure you will argue otherwise.

Now if they are not sold on Freidman then yes there would be a spot open for #7 role.

FWIW I hope Evander Kane pummels Jake Paul before Paul even gets close to a McGregor fight.

How can you be puffing your chest out against a: 4 inches shorter, 13 years older, 15 lbs lighter, guy who never boxed before?

On that note, I am so happy Flyers/Sixers are virtually right around the corner.

No it was not. My comment was simply about how potentially an opening could occur on the Flyers roster for a defenseman. Nothing more, nothing less. It included nothing about who would fill the opening.

Well there is no potential opening. Simple as that. They have 9 dman on the roster already. So where is the potential opening?

You obviously don't understand what potentially means. Flyers are not going to carry 9 defenseman on the roster.

Correct they are not, that is irrelevant to what you said though.

So again where is the "potentially" open spot even if one is traded? One Peter Dikk may even argue there is a log jam.

If the pandemic never happened does Philly have a legit shot at a cup run last season?
I think they had everything and everyone firing on all cylinders and it could have gone really well for us.

What's ifs are always fun, aren't they?

bill, i believe the season is being held up for financial reasons. nfl and nba have huge tv contracts that pay the bills. nhl is different and needs fans in seats to work. i think most teams take in around $50mm in tv revenue while normal expenses are around $150 million. So if the owners want to start hockey losing money at a $100 million run rate per team, we have hockey. If not, we wait for the vaccine and large gatherings reopenings.

Another known scumbag Evander Kane, guy is always trying to stay relevant. What a horrible choice to be one of the leaders of that black hockey alliance.

Not sure what he’s getting at, if one is traded will there be an open spot? Yes, but it is most likely filled by someone not named Morin. Sadly he will most likely never dress for the Flyers again.

Correct it will be filled in house. Though I still dont see this open spot. Why waste a contract spot or cap space on another dman? Unless your talking a top 2/3 guy then sure you explore it.
