Just a top 4 defenceman, huh? Oh boy. |

Rexy is right, we need to build a team more like the Leafs that has good anylitics during the season with no hope of winning a cup as currently constructed, cause really folks, good anylitics during regular season is even better than winning The cup right? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 |

Do you see them keeping Roslovic long term? I only see him as a number 3 center.

had to predict, if they can move him now in a package for a piece they feel helps, they will but Roslovic may also be tied to Laine, if Laine is dealt it may create a space in top 6 on right wing for Jack? |

He's not going to crack our top 6 as the lineup stands at the moment.

The Jets need a new coach as Maurice and his total lack of any offensive, defensive, breakout, penalty kill and power play systems and questionable use of his players are the biggest reason this team is lacking success and consistency. |

Jets need to fix this chemistry thing. They don't look like they are having fun. If there is an bumhole in the room Chevy needs to fix it, if there is no bumhole in the room then Maurice needs to fix it.
**EDIT** - my grammar was correct the way i drafted the post... |

Don't believe it's any big secret to anyone - they need a top-pairing d-man, preferably RH'd.
But how do you get that top pairing d-man is the question. Right now I would guess that Aaron Ekblad would be at the top of the Jets list, thought there could be a surprise lurking in the weeds, or on the ice.
I'm not counting Philly or CBS out of the Laine sweepstakes.
Get a top defender and we're a contender again! I wonder if Cirelli and Cernak might be still in the works - get Cirelli in case that Perfetti is not able to handle the load at C next year at age 19. A fall back!

Sanheim ( left handed but can play right side) and Myers ( right handed ) out of Philly still make a lot of sense as pieces in any Laine trade, and I agree about CLB as well lurking.
I wonder if Chevy would ever have the kohonies to have two trades lined up, the first being Laine that may have only one roster player with multiple prospect/picks coming back and then flipping some of said prospects/picks with say a Roslovic / Niku to Tampa for Cirelli and Cernak?
edit, yes I realize how unrealistic this is |

Jets need another #1 Center so that they can roll out three scoring lines. They need a new coach and especially defensive coach. Huddy is in charge of the defensive corps and penalty kill. Both have only finished in the top ten once since he's been the coach. A better defensive system would negate the need to get a high end over priced defenseman.
They also need Chevy to take less days off.
Just some ultimate thoughts.... |

Imagine watching the Leafs clown Columbus for a series where they shot 2% and assuming Toronto was the problem.
People get goalie’d. |

This is the correct take, and I will add a P.S. to it:
P.S. let young players play. |

The Philly pair of d-men certainly would be bear the top of my list, and hopefully Chevy's.
My thinking is, due to the Expansion Draft, it would make sense, when trading for the d-man, to include, Pionk, and get a forward back as well, like Konecny or Farabee. If you don't, we cam only protect three of say, Morrissey, Pionk, DeMelo and, say, Sanheim, at Expansion. Sort of counter-productive if that were to happen.
In this plan A, if Farabee, and not Konecny, we would need a draft choice included.
Agree on theory of flipping some combination of prospects like Vesalainen, Niku and Gustafsson and/or 2nd rd pick that we still have from not diving in for D. Toews, for Cirelli and Cernak, if plan A above fails.
Like I said previously, be really nice to have Cirelli waiting in the wings (pardon the pun) in case Perfetti is not ready for the 2C spot when Stastny leaves.
Some of this depends on Little, is he done for good, or just next season?

please refer to last thread where I said you go to either an A, B, or C option for an excuse.
I believe this was clearly one of them.
Columbus won, Leafs lost, period, maybe if leafs had better shooters, maybe if they focused on more quality shots and not just volume, maybe if they had more grit and not just paycheck collectors....who knows why they lost, they lost. end of story, cant change the past.
now post a pic of you in your Leaf jammies like the Taveras one already |

Anthony Travalgia: What do the Jets need?
Answering a site-wide question on what do the Jets need in the upcoming season? - Anthony.Travalgia
They need Patrik Laine to live up to his potential - a 40-50 goal scorer (pro-rated to the actual length of the season).

The Jets biggest need is that if Chevy says they are a draft and develop team, that they stick with being a draft a develop team for the game plan. Last year was an opportunity to give some guys time to develop in the NHL but we gave that time to Anthony Bitetto as well as a bunch of other pylons no longer with the team to make those learner curve mistakes.
Sure, our defence could use improvement, but the last thing we need is to have our defence clogged with C+ and D+ veteran skill plugging holes that prevent opportunities for some great defence prospects to maybe move up in the depth charts. Maybe the Jets biggest need is for one of Samberg, Heinola, Niku or even Stanley get the opportunity to play in a roster 6 role. Who knows how long it would of taken for Scheiffle to develop if it wasn't for Bryan Little breaking his neck against Tampa Bay. |

Scheifele going from a 3rd line center only to be put on the 1st line due to an injury. Morrissey not being sent down because Buff demanded to play with him. Maurice didn't make any of these moves because he is a good coach only because he had no choice. Will Samberg, Heinola, Niku or Stanley need an injury to get a chance to make the team over Sbiza, Beaulieu, Forbort? When will the draft and develop kids get a fair chance?

Toronto all the time: has no issues with shooting/goals.
Toronto for 1 series: can’t score against unholy goaltending.
Clearly Toronto’s scoring talent is the issue |

Well their scoring talent dropped the ball when it mattered most. This is non debatable |

They got goalie’d. Happened to us against Fleury. Happened to Washington like 5 times. It happens. |
