The other thing is we were 7th? in overall scoring in the league last year and somewhere in the mid-20 I think on defense. As much as I would love to get Dubois, defense is the teams issue, not offense.

Offensively this team could hang with any team in the league last year, and this year we have Lafreniere. Need to clean up the back end.

Well I think Miller could be a franchise D man.

I think they would look for forwards and picks if I had to guess, so really don't think the defenseman would be that important to them.

I think what were looking at is some combination of Chytil, Barron, Kravtsov, Buch, Gauthier, Pajuniemi and some picks. I dont know if they care about Strome.

They seem to have trouble keeping FA's, they are definitely going to want players under team control for awhile.

Also gotta keep in mind we got kids back there (and all over the lineup) and some spare parts.

Being aweful at faceoffs contributes to GAA.

And I will continue to question whether Quinn is the right coach for this team.

ultimately it's probably gonna be hard for Columbus to get off Kakko, and I dont want to do it

That could be a big problem then because i think the team isnt extending anyone long term that isnt in future plans 5yrs from now. Especially because theyre toting a fine line against the cap as well as having all these ELCs expiring needing new contracts.

I agree with that. That will be their key piece they want.

I will always compare importance of position. Center is arguably the most important position on a team.

I totally get that, but I just can't authorize trading Kakko

Understandable. Then its likely we wont get PLD or it will cost us a 1st rd pick in 21 and 22, plus other parts like Chytil and Buch.

Something will go down eventually. We have a serious overstock of solid prospects.

Weve had a giant hole on the left side anyway. However, its a lot easier to trade for a Dman than a 22 year old, potential franchise center.
- aecliptic

That's why they aren't going to move him.

Never mind, just read Brooks' article. They would have to move Strome's $$$ and include at least one of the aforesaid prospects.

I'd prefer giving them Lundkvist over Miller, I'd love to get Dubois without giving up K'Andre

I just think you gotta be realistic about the value of a young center like Dubois though

- jimbro83

Realistic about value ---- and that's where the problems begin...
