Nope, there's like 3 or 4 of you versus the rest of us

The majority has been wrong a lot on here over the years.

I care about Skinner listening to his boss like the rest of us do no matter how much we make.
- GilPerreault11

Riiiiiiiiiight

How about his boss put him in the best position to succeed and admit he is wrong, you know the true sign of a real leader

Interesting article in The Athletic about Chuck Richarderson last Friday.

https://theathletic.com/2...lls-sabres-buffalo-radio/

I was only a kid during his hey-day, but I remember him making for some entertaining radio, whether people liked him or not.

I read that, it was pretty interesting, I didn't know the history

Me either. And it sounds like neither side can agree on the history either.

There's probably a mixture of truth from both sides

How exactly am I undervaluing VO?

What have I said other than what is undeniable facts-

He didn’t produce 5 on 5 ✅

He stopped lighting it up on the PP when teams took his shot away ✅

He was bad defensively ✅

He’s a middle six winger who gets to ride shotgun to a superstar center. That’s it

- sbroads24

It was his rookie season, playing top line, and he got hurt.

Oh I agree. The part at the end where Larry Quinn said he doesn't ever remember making firing him a prerequisite for the WGR Sabres deal was great. He basically said "I don't remember doing that, but I and others couldn't stand him, so maybe I did. I don't know."

Matthieu Perrault is too rich for my blood but Derek Ryan would be a good claim for our bottom 6.

Especially since he and Skinner played well together in Carolina.

54 games 42 pts and 20 goals

you are the numbers guy project that to 82 games. I'm going to bet that you won't because it will not fit your narrative.

25 goals in a rookie year is a good bet though and not all on the PP. Psst, by the way, special teams does matter

- GilPerreault11

Olofsson is an intriguing player with skill. But he was not a very good player last year regardless of his point total.

You've made up in your head that we don't like Olofsson because he took Skinner's spot. It's just simply not true

Skinner and Eichel were light years better than Olofsson and Eichel

Not to mention Reinhart was on that line all year as opposed to Pominville, who im sure as even the biggest Reinhart hater, you'd agree he's better than JP

Does that change the results?

No one here wants to throw away Olofsson

Ralph said post scrimmage that they wanted to increase the competitiveness but not to the point of inviting injury into the equation. He said as the week progressed towards Thursday, they'd amp up the intensity.

As for comparing a goal-scorer who's averaged 25 goals a season with a guy who was sent down last year?

Really?

- Michael Pachla

I’m saying Skinner better realize he just won’t be handed anything from Ralph. If Skinner wants to be top 6 it’s quite obvious to me Ralph is challenging him to work harder for it.
I’m not comparing him to anyone but I will say from what I saw others have shown they want it more. I hope he realizes if you are not scoring there are other facets of the game he can contribute to. The scoring will come back so in the meantime showing willingness to do more than that will be a positive.

I know you are bitter that he took the anointed ones spot on the first line last year but he had no say in that and Jack had his best year. Whether that was because he was able to handle the puck more and Skinner didn't hog it, he was able to find a shooter, VO can pass himself, Jack didn't tremble about D coverage because Skinner is a sieve in that regard; Jack was psychologically happier because VO was on his line, I don't know but the anointed one stumbled BIG TIME as he has been know to do.

VO was on his way to getting close to the second Princes high point total in his career, some refer to him as SAM and have no problem calling him a first line player. Whether VO is a first line or 2nd line whatever he is another Sabres weapon that seems to be able to buy into the system, philosophy of the coach, boss and be a team player and help them win. 7th round picks most often often turn into nothing so I think we should all be happy we hit one out of the park there.

how do you know this?

jack is jack...he's is the driver...he does what he does regardless of who's on his line

It's the second round of the playoffs, every team makes me nervous

If Pittsburgh wouldn't have thrown up over themselves on their first 2 possessions I wouldn't feel very comfortable playing them either.

It's going to be a dog fight from here on out.

victor olofsson had a minus-1 rating despite scoring over half of his 20 goals and 40% of his 42 points on the powerplay...he's not bad defensively at all...in fact he played the pk in rochester and that defensive awareness transferred to the nhl 5v5

People like to read too much into their interviews, as if Jack would ever say anything negative about his line mates.

His defensive metrics are really bad.

He was sub-replacement 5 on 5 this year.

I do think he improves. The question is how much

i understand what you're saying, but the organization just handed him a contract that pays him $9m/yr. and has seven more years on it...and that was on top of having four more years of okposo at $6m/yr...that's $15m in the bottom six...having okposo down there is reasonable as the game got too fast for him and he languished without jt...putting skinner down there is cap-suicide...and all this is going on when they're trying to make the playoffs for the first time in nine years
