It makes sense, just curious to see how it works. If it gets off to slow start, switching to Hall is a very tempting move.
- Lunaion

hall will be on the ice, right?...either at the point or net-front?

Yes, but in a spot he doesn't typically play. He's a great player, may very well make it work.

His play did improve but don't tell the Skinner crowd that. Skinner's play never improved he just collected the 10 mil paycheck and said thank you very much while his sycophants' all cried tears for him as they are now. He should be cruddy politician because he has the charm for some reason.
- GilPerreault11

do you mean charm besides the 29 goals/82 games he's scored over the course of 10 year career?...or do you mean charm besides the 40-goal season, three 30-goal seasons and three 20-goal seasons?

sam is most effective in front of and around the net...hall at the point playmaking and helping control the pp isn't such a bad idea...if they go with that structure

I mean the 4 goals in the final 25 games in his 40 goal year and his whopping 14 goals last year/ Also, his jaw dropping play making ability that sets up so many goals and garners those huge numbers of 9, 13, and 11 assists in those seasons that the system doesn't matter/maybe matters, who cares? While, defensively holding down the fort like a true trooper. That charm that could only win Buffalo fans over.

Like I said earlier, I think Sam is a black hole when he's below the goal line. Would love to see him net front a lot more, but having him battle in front of the net just isn't something they ask of him.

Excited to see how it goes. It got very stale last season.

i thought the charm that won over buffalo is the limited-talent, lunch-box guy who's inept offensively and good defensively but, damn it, tries his hardest?

i understand what you're saying, but the organization just handed him a contract that pays him $9m/yr. and has seven more years on it...and that was on top of having four more years of okposo at $6m/yr...that's $15m in the bottom six...having okposo down there is reasonable as the game got too fast for him and he languished without jt...putting skinner down there is cap-suicide...and all this is going on when they're trying to make the playoffs for the first time in nine years
- Michael Pachla

I am hoping Skinner gets the message, him, Ralph and KA have a group hug and he gets back to the top 6. I don’t think Ralph will give in and that may become a very big issue.

He seems to be. And rumors are that Indy may make an offer for Wentz in a trade because of it. I just said the thought crossed my mind, not "go get him".

Yes, and he's gotten away from that. I put that on the system. I kind of get it, Eichel and VO shots don't really get tipped, or produce many rebounds.

No, the announcers have had that wrong for decades. The Blue Collar town died decades ago. The simpleton Buffalo fans will take anything that will sign here that has any bit of talent and who will excite them and give them instant gratification. If the fans were building a team Patrick Kane would be a Sabre, they would not have a 1st round pick for a few years, and any big name that came up at the trade deadline would have been dealt for in return for much more than they were worth and paid more than they should be as well just so they didn't leave Buffalo and the fans inferiority complex of it.

Good point. I’m sure they didn’t trade him because they were blown away by the offer.

He's expandable when you have enough talent. Problem is do we look like crooks burying him and making him waive?
