Fox came in as a rookie and played outstanding, perhaps Miller can do the same. Thursday can't come soon enough!

LETS GO RANGERS!

The anticipation is the worst!

Im honestly surprised that Miller will break the lineup, I wonder if it will be on a tryout basis and then they send him back down before he gets locked in on that first year of ELC. They'll want to milk that ELC for as long as possible with all the upcoming contract extensions.

I’m sure he is. I doubt Johnson/deangelo is 2nd pair and trouba/Miller is 3rd.

If Quinn is as enamored with Miller as it seems there is no reason to not give him a shot in the lineup. There might be a revolving door with Hajek, Smith and Miller taking turns on the taxi squad. Smith especially since he can slot into the 4th line as needed.

What are the rules for a player to transfer between the taxi squad and Hartford? Same as the regular season?

I have a feeling Miller will stick all year. I hope they play Smith over Johnson tho

Just be ready for some brutal turnovers by Miller. Hopefully, none like the World Junior Finals last year

I would think that if he hadn't improved significantly from that point, he wouldn't be in the position he's in. Now, obviously mistakes will come. But, he has PLAYED himself onto this roster. It's not like they are making exceptions for him and he doesn't deserve it.

I think Ryan is just saying there will be mistakes, which we all kind of expect, especially for a young defenseman. I think Miller would be served best for now by keeping it simple and just worry about the defensive side of it. Let Trouba worry about the offensive side of their pairing.

Agreed. I think though this is where as Ranger fans, if we are going with the growing year narrative has to accept that Miller will make some mistakes because he's a rookie. Not everyone is going to come out of the gate a machine like Fox was, I would take a MDZ like rookie season with further growth coming as he gets more experienced.

I get that. But, he used the term "brutal turnovers." I am not naive enough to think that he will be a Calder-leading, all-star, but if he is anything like the player that had those struggles last winter, he would have been cut, IMO. I expect him to play a simplified game, but I also expect to be impressed with his maturity. I hold out hope that the coaches would not put him into situations he's not ready to handle.

...mostly, I just don't have anything else to concentrate on and am REALLY jonesing for some hockey now!!!

Definitely, he had a bad WJC, why I don't put a lot of stock in that tourny, although its great to watch.

He's going to be on Maurie. They have to cut open a wall to get him out of the house
