Game on, folks!

Who do you have as scoring the first Blackhawks goal of the season?

I'm going with Kubalik. Honorable mention to Suter.

DEBRINCAT With 1st Goal. With my son's NY hockey being shut down with no games being played, I'm looking forward to seeing some games being played.

The Icehogs have fielded a lineup minus a top skill, point producing center for it seems 4-5 consecutive years (excluding Sikura). The team is not going to even make playoffs
without a legitimate center. Another area found lacking, is that they rely upon recalling ECHL forwards to address toughness issues. Those forwards are slow even for AHL and not up to par for AHL.

Barret might suffice as a center but whom does he play with? I believe sprinkling in a few veterans in their lineup helps but again where is there a center?

Maybe after a Ruta turnover. Someone in the five man unit vs Ruuta's pair.

Since the world is upside down, I'm going with Subban.

Hey Theo! Do you have the Hawks getting their first goal tonight or are you thinking several games in?

Charting Hockey has the Blackhawks finishing last in the Division, behind Detroit.

But the Hawk’s ace in the hole is Jeremy coaching ‘em up real good.

Will this team olay better in May than they are likely to play in January?

I'm more concerned that the Big Club's best center is Strome. Was really looking forward to Dach's further emergence, but the club being iced should earn the Hawks a top 3 pick for the '21 draft.

Lots of big announcements yesterday on continuing the status quo of meh to mediocrity with coaching/GM legends Colliton, Nagy and Pace all coming back.

The prospect of watching another year of Mitch at QB has me absolutely giddy.

Since nobody mentioned him so far, I'm going to go with Kane for the first goal. It rarely is the top player on the team though. It's usually somebody that gets like 3 in the first week of the season, and then 5 more the whole rest of the season.

That Rockford roster looks brutal. I'm sure all AHL squads will be a bit watered down because of the taxi squads though. The fringe 4th liners that usually lead the way for AHL teams will be sitting in the press box for a lot of NHL games.

The one area where this team is actually starting to look somewhat impressive is the defense. I am excited to see how the young dmen develop this year. Hopefully Murphy and DeHaan finally have a healthy season and increase their value for a trade or continue to build confidence going into next year.

This year actually feels sort of fun because of the low expectations for the squad, they can only impress. I really wish Dach was playing as our best prospect, but still a lot to keep me interested this season.

Yes - if Colliton has them washing their hands better in May, I will be satisfied.

I think the bigger question is who will be tonight's whipping boy?

Win or lose there is usually at least one player who looks like they should have no business being on the ice or makes such an egregious mistake that a majority of the board want him traded/demoted immediately. There will be a few dissenters who will point out the errors of someone else but there is usually a consensus crap player of the game.

Maybe the Bears will save big dollars if Trubinsky signs for much less. Maybe the Bears can use the extra $ on improving the team elsewhere

The Bears improving on 8-8. Hard to see that. Trubinsky as the new $6 mill man. That title once belonged to Lee Majors but he didn't play football. Trubinsky back but same old Bears. Same Trubinsky performances. Well he won't ever live in A Rodgers shadow, but improved perhaps. How much would he take to play here again?

I think Pirri currently is leading in the delegate count. Followed by Strome.

Pirri's mostly a career AHL'er so I'll go with Strome for the win Johnny...though likely a loss in this case.

Hopefully they move on. Mitch is so far behind Rodgers that he can't even see his shadow.

Also, what extra $$$??? The Bears will be shedding players just to get under the Cap and even be in the conversation to somehow re-sign A Rob.

As it stands they don't have extra money to throw around in FA and also the QB crop there might just be headlined by Mitch.

If they can work a trade for Stafford or even Ryan I'd be up for that...

I predict at least one too many men on the ice penalty against the Hawks and a whiff on a one timer by Debrincat.

And at least 2 goals against because either Subban or Delia looses their net.
