Speaking for myself, I’m very excited for the third line more than any other line. I’m excited for the second PP unit, than the first unit. My hope is that one unit isn’t pushed more than the other. It shouldn’t matter that Giroux, Couturier, Hayes, Konecny and Provorov are on the first. It’s time to give Patrick that push he needs. Jake Voracek and James van Riemsdyk are legitimate power player producers.

Also I think this might be the first time Carter Hart has played behind a really questionable defense for a full season. Now don’t get me wrong, the defense was questionable during his rookie season but that season was shared with seven other goaltenders. This is Hart’s defense from start to finish. I don’t even know if Hart has seen real Adversity yet. We know Provorov has and he’s passed those tests. Sean Couturier and Claude Giroux too. Now it’s time to see if Hart is as great as we all think he is.

I think we’re very lucky to be in the position we are because Alex Ovechkin, Sidney Crosby and Patrick Bergeron are in their mid 30’s or heading in. It’s the circle of life. They’re on the way down. We’re on the way up.
