Nolan Patrick is playing 3C. 👍 I'm really hoping this kid can stay healthy for once and get his career going. Nice to see Lindblom playing too. 🙂

Looking at the "Taxi Squad" I'm going to make a prediction that Givani Smith will have the most impact and has the best chance of taking someobody's job.

He's been the most improved player that I've seen in Grand Rapids the last year or so. He plays with an intensity this team needs badly. He's also gotten better with his puck control and he's using that long reach of his to his advantage. The sandpaper he brings to the team is a very important intangible that can help this team. Players like him make the this team harder to play against. I'm confident he can chip in some offense if he gets the opportunities. He is also a tenacious forechecker... which this team needs. That will hopefully help create some turnovers and maybe more scoring opportunities.

Lindstrom was looking better at the end of the AHL season last year... but I've seen other teams (Chicago Wolves) take some cheap shots and liberties with him (guessing because he's a Euro). This was mainly because McIlrath was not in the lineup that night... not a coincidence. I think Lindstrom has potential to make the team if they Wings get banged up on defense.

I want to see both Rasmussen and Smith in the lineup. They can replace Nielsen and Filppula. We need some size and snarl added to this team to compliment the skill guys. A player like Smith can wear opponents down with hits. Rasmussen can use his size and hands and make our PP better.

Gustafson figures in both of Philly's 1st period PP goals......I thought the Wings would have been in on him. Of coarse Philly being a much better team would be a bigger draw to him.

I'd certainly keep Svechnikov over Abdelkader. Erne is a plug. Filppula and Neilsen are gone after this season.(please buyout Frans, Stevie). I'd rather give Rasmussen and Smith 30 games to see what they got.

Svech is still a Red Wing/Griffin. With the compressed schedule, likely injuries, covid, etc... he'll get a chance to play eventually. That's if he isn't injured when he does get his chance. How much runway is left for this guy? He was drafted 6 years ago. He was placed on waivers and no team wanted him. Not even Holland who was the GM who drafted him.

He lost 2 years to injuries, he is fit, it's not like he is lazy.
So, figure he was drafted 4 years ago.
I dunno, he wasn't claimed, obviously, but waiving 1st round picks is bad asset management.
