Vet vs a rookie different stories. Tryamkin hasn’t played in a long time in THE league.

Khl is still a pretty good league. The league itself might be bush, but the quality of players is still pretty high.
It gets a lot of former nhl and top older ahl players. That is pretty good quality.

I am not really sure I want to even see Tryamkin back.

Big ice & soft play in the K & watered down talent I cite. If he signs he’s PO ineligible & only makes sense for depth if injuries imo.

I would prefer to see what these other defensemen have, flip Tryamkin for Logan Brown, or something like that. This organization needs a couple more centres, in it, more than they need Tryamkin.

Where are you slotting in Podkolzin come May?

Way too early but I’m assuming injuries will dictate who and where.

What about the coaching? From what I’ve read it’s at times suspect.

I'd like to know if Podz is play-off eligible if he signs in May? Or are they signing him for next season?

Tryamkin is probably signed after the E-draft. He's got REAL trade value after he starts playing in the NHL again.

Canucks could have another 2 spots open with Edler and Hamonic UFA. So Rathbone and Tree may fill in there; if, Canucks don't pick up a pre-e-draft casualty steal.

Are you referring to KHL coaching or Canucks coaching? I have read both are suspect.

As the team sits right now, I would think, Sutter and Jake would be a good 3rd line.

Too late . We have anointed him already . I feel sorry for whoever said it first , it will live with him all year.
- VANTEL

It was me who said it first, I believe 🤣 it was a bold prediction based purely on the fact that I think the team will take another step this year, his opportunities on the PP, and playing with a guy like Bo (who I think is going to have a great season), and Hog could be a direct beneficiary of that if he proves he can stay.

A shortened season should also benefit anyone who comes out of the gate quick since there's not going to be a lot of time to bang off the rust. This is where playing in Europe prior might also help.

I don't think he's be the best rookie by any means. I just happen to really like the circumstances he is walking into.

I didn't mean to anoint anybody yet (the games obviously need to be played first). It was just an early prediction based off of some of what I wrote above.

But I get it. That's going to make me the village idiot for some on here-- and that's ok!

I don't particularly care if he gets a Calder nod or not. Just want him to be effective, first and foremost. If he plays well, we ALL win, and that's what I am hoping for.

Cheers, everyone. Hope you all enjoyed the game tonight.

As long as the team is consistent every game we’re ok. Need to bring energy & speed nightly. Solid tending & it’s PO’s.

Agreed. Good start tonight, and there should be a lot to look forward to.

I live in Ontario, and I can tell you right now that everybody is sleeping on this team imho. But I'm sure you folks in BC are used to that.

I have very little concerns regarding the goaltending, D also seems improved.

Heard Button talking yesterday, and he says the Nucks D is worse. Uhhhh??? Lol.

Loved Tanev, but Nate is a major upgrade. Stecher isn't going to be that missed (guys like that can be replaced fairly easily), and we get to see more of our prospects slot in. It's time we find out what we have.

Yes out East over fed on the Leafs keeps them in the dark. Tunnel vision. Leafs headline everything & most of Canada hates it. Real fans don’t go to bed if a game on 😂

Agree the D & G are fine even improved.

Idk what Button watches lol

The D is evolving quite nicely indeed 👍

I can't tell you how many times I've gone into work like a zombie due to staying up late watching western games.

But I REGRET NOTHING! Hockey>sleep

Just be thankful you're in the same hemisphere.
Currently on night shift here.
Woke up after a few hours sleep and turned the game on.

Often only able to catch the 1st period at work and then the 3rd period at home.
Not ideal...
But hey, no regional blackouts

Well, in a rare case of opening up, Daniel Wagner actually managed to get Boeser to open up about his back issue affecting his shot.

“That gave me a lot of problems after, it was a pretty bad injury. But just kind of knowing my body and knowing what I need to feel good … I feel like my shot is back where it was in my first year. I think I’ve told you guys a lot when I shoot I think it fuels my game and gives me confidence,” Boeser said.
