I doubt it, there’s really no need. You, well, actually not you, because you have leveled in old age and become much easier to take, and don’t swing wildly from emotional high to low, BUT you (the general you) are already turning on guys after one bad game.

Also, I don’t think they played that bad, or that differently than the previous game. Some mistakes, sure, but McDavid finished his chances and Boeser didn’t.

The reverted to the great defensive strategy of allowing Edmonton to run around freely in their own zone, but let’s give Green some credit, he moved Virtanen around to try and make something happen.

This one is Rick Nash trade and somehow the NYR the team that traded for him and then traded him again is big winner here.

Every so often a player like McJesus will take over a game and win it outright, it happens. Petey will do the same for Van at some point this year.

i don't even think 5-6 games is enough this season to figure out how the season will end.

i'm not just talking about the canucks but i'm waiting until february to see what this and other teams are really all about.

granted with a shortened season, any team can be long gone from playoff contention by then but i honestly see most teams having inconsistent outings in the first month. with the amount of games played so close together and no preseason games, it's going to take a couple weeks (at least) for teams to get into true 'game shape' as well as gel as a team. thus i see a bunch of up and down games for a lot of teams. nothing to get too high or low about in the first month (or really draw concrete conclusions.)

My thoughts exactly. In G1 they looked like an NHL team, Hussle, passes mostly tape on tape, collapsing on the puck and not giving McDavid/Drai too much room to work.
In G2 they practically rolled out the red carpet for them, passes either completely off their mark or in their feet. Our PP needs work. This is what you get when you practice a shoot out for penalties instead of an actual PP during scrimmages. Green needs to keep them on a consistent game plan, instead of changing it up on a whim. If we played G2 like G1 it's a close game that could go either way.

It's early in the season, but the season is like 70% back to backs, we need to be prepared for that. Demko gave us a chance to win and the team failed him. Like on that 2nd goal, it seemed that our entire team figured the period is over so why bother, and then there is McDavid who doesn't quit until the buzzer sounds.

There were two teams playing. Edmonton was better, Vancouver was worse, but the margins of difference were small.

He's done quite a few of them, I find them super interesting. The Lindros one is great, he also did one on the Kesler trade.

I know you are talking in general .

As far as me( as in me) I really will try not to let results of one game to another affect me. I can't stress enough this year for me is sitting back and enjoying the game win or lose.

I want to see the young guys get a lot of playing time even if there is mistakes. I want to see some of the older guys ushered out.

Usually a 500 road trip is a success and rarely in the last 10 years has a Canuck team won back to back against the same team.

The thing that I enjoyed most about game two was it was hockey

And that even though they didn’t have their best game, it was still really the young players who were front and central.

How do you know he changed it up on a whim? He just won, rolled out the same group of players, but altered his game plan for no apparent reason?

Not saying he couldn't have, but maybe it's the players not executing well enough, or Edmonton responding...

I think even OJ with the mistakes overall has been a plus. Things are going to take time but stick with it.

There is no need to ever see Loui or Sven again . They should be sent to Utica on the 20 th. Win or lose leave them there and accept what happens up on the Canucks. Loui has to be traded next year and accept it will cost you a second round pick.

I really did enjoy last night and looking forward to playing Calgary now. I don't like the format though of playing the same team multiple times. Don't know if I will ever be in favor of that.

1. McDavid is freaken good, I mean really good.

2. Hughes and Petey were off . Rust was showing .

3. Refer to 1 & 2 that is enough.

I do not like the Oilers, but is McDavid ever enjoyable to watch. A player of that talent with the ability to make plays at that speed is phenomenal.
When guys like him or McKinnon or Sid turn it up like that, all you can do is hope for the best.

I like it, especially with this condensed schedule. Gives more of an NFL feel where every game is much more important, and adjusting your team becomes a bigger part of the equation. The back to backs make the games a bit more intense, too. None of these afternoon CBJ games that are a sleepwalk

I like playoffs but they are not the same.

Road trip to Edm a few nights away from home , hop on bus go to CGY few night away. Total time away approx 7 days . Repeat 10 times a year

NHL playoffs 3 nights away come back home .

Regular NHL season 2 week road trip 8-10 days away twice a year.

But I fully understand that this needs to be done this year

Said it before when you have arguably the two best players in the league on the same team there will be times when they just take over the game like last night. Nucks just stood by and watched for the most part.

Well, that was a mixed bag!

I'm kinda happy that I didn't write a glowing review of the Canucks after Game 1, only to have to take it all back after Game 2.
