The Habs let 6 goals in against a club that looked like it was skating through molasses and had very little hustle. But okay.

Better get used to that. I think the Leafs are better and more rounded than last year, but we are much slower.

I love Leafs fans.

Taunt the other team for losing to the Leafs, because the Leafs looked terrible.

It's the mediocrity that unites us all.

- Atomic Wedgie

Andersen certainly levelled the playing field.

That five hole goal

Scabeh - pleeeeeeeeeease don't complain about the officiating in that game! Auston Matthews had a minimum of four hands on his stick all game, took at least a dozen Charas in the back and Rielly clearly was high sticked in the face on a scoring chance that went uncalled in the overtime. I don't even take issue with the three straight Leaf penalties to start the game and I commend Julien on coaching. The ten or so uncalled picks gave the Habs a significant advantage.
- winsix

Yeah, I have to agree here.

The reffing was bad, on both sides for sure, but it was "more bad" against the Leafs.

I franking hate the Chris Pronger, Zdeno Chara (could list another 30 defencemen) "clearing the crease" crosschecking play - FFS, it's crosschecking. Have the stones to call it.

I promise - it will lead to more entertaining hockey.

The first game hasn’t even started yet, and he’s already crapping on Matthews

Also doing well, also glad hockey is back. This one game reminded me of all my emotions towards the Leafs within an evening.

I'm not complaining about the officiating. I said it was hard to be mad about the puck bouncing on the ref right on to nylander's stick, but that refs are part of the game so... that's life.

You on the other hand....

I'm sure the first 2 weeks we will see some bad games.

Glad they got 2 points though!

Agreed. The beer was pretty good, it did taste like coffee. I am going to see if I can authenticate it, seemed too good to be counterfeit. Was a vintage 2009 - who the (frank) ever heard of a vintage beer? I thought for most beers it was a good month. Anyhoo, it reminded me of a really strong Belgian beer I had many years ago. When I googled the price of a single bottle, I felt shame.

I thought the refs were relatively even for suckiness. poop luck on the Vesey goal but I think every team gets one or two of those a year.

At the end of the day, they usually end up being as bad for everyone.

Each team can name plenty of missed calls, that the other team would disagree about, etc. etc.

It's funny because it's almost impossible not to be biased towards the refs decisions.
