Bogo had a brutal game, Simmonds was decent and the upper cut works ok. Chiarot has a big size advantage but took a couple of unanswered shots. On the plus side Nylander was great, could have easily had a hatty.

I thought the refs were relatively even for suckiness. poop luck on the Vesey goal but I think every team gets one or two of those a year.

I wasn't impressed with Dermott either. I am interested in seeing Lehtonen.

To be fair, they looked like a team that hadn't played any preseason games with any intensity whatsoever. Some guys just never looked like they snapped out of it all game.

I wanna see him play too but he's been in Toronto since the end of November/start of December so those games played are almost negligible at this point. Keefe said this week he was going to get in but just needed some more practices to get used to the ice and speed.

I think this is really the coaching staff giving Dermott a chance to claim this spot in the top 6. pressures on for him now

The reffing was bad, on both sides for sure, but it was "more bad" against the Leafs.

I franking hate the Chris Pronger, Zdeno Chara (could list another 30 defencemen) "clearing the crease" crosschecking play - FFS, it's crosschecking. Have the stones to call it.

Same, it seems like BS because it's pure a judgement call and if a guy stands up to it, it's not a penalty, but if a guy falls and embellishes, it becomes a penalty. Sometimes. Then a guy like Chara or Weber can basically do whatever they want because they get the benefit of the doubt. Makes no sense.
