And that's not an unreasonable approach. I do think he's better than you give him credit for but don't have a single care.
I dont think your opinion on willy is much different than The Gull on Marner or Aethsie on Matthews. All similar views, really.

Just because he sucks at it and went thigh to thigh doesn't make it cool man!

Oh FFS THAT is what you are crying about.

Good lord. they were moving at like 1 mph, and it was not knee on knee. The crosscheck was worse, as was the high stick that cuts open Rielly and goes uncalled, leading to a breakaway that could have ended the game on the non-call.

I agree.

Most on here understand what i meant, and some just like to raz me with Nylander simping.. But others take it wayyyy too serious and take things too far too quickly.

Anyways, hopefully the storm has passed, and smooth sailing from here on.

I remember the RDS crew was a strike one year. And all you could hear was the game sounds, just like when you're seeing it live.

I've been longing for it to happen again ever since.

- Scabeh

Oh man, I am sure there are lots of Leafs fans that could do without the play by play and colour guys we have had to put up with also.

Ive stated a million times, i dont hate Willy.

He makes a lot, and i think its fair to ask alot out of him.

I praise him when he plays well.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

I don't know if anybody listened to Hockey Central today - Burkie had some pretty weird observations about Willy.

Said that for his second goal, there's less than 30 guys in the league who have a shot good enough to score that goal. That it would go in on any goalie in the league.

Then went on to say that the only thing Nylander does for your team is score goals. It was Burkie, so obviously said it in a bit of a snarky tone.

So then the host asks if every team can have one guy on the team like that - "like a Kessel" - and Burke realizes he's just been badly painted into a corner, so he hums and haws and says yeah, sorta, I guess.

I love Burkie - he's always entertaining, even if he's incoherent.

Oh ffs, you guys are whining about the refs despite having won the game.

I'm just trying to show other stuff happened too.

I've read about the Rielly high stick misscall 200 times since yesterday.

Danault receive a stick in the face in the first without a call too. poop happens.

And again, it's not that I disagree that the crosschecks are against the rulebook, just that you see these plays everygame. What made them so special?

Political talk has its place....

A hockey forum is not one of them

- Dozzer

Yup. And I've kept telling them that that place is r/politics.

Go being annoying with annoying politics talk there.

Freddie: Gave up 4 goals on 19 shots and then stood on his head. Couple of whiffs. Without the whiffs he has a damn good game. Pretty much same story as always... Hope he gets it sorted eventually. 🤦‍♂️

- joel878

It is pretty well known that I dislike Andersen, but after the 4-3 goal he made a number of good saves and gets more credit than any other Leaf for the win.

So annoying to see the guys come out with no fire and no jam whatsoever. Clearly effort is not something required by the organization.

Thornton probably shouldn't even be on the 4th line. I hope they figure that out.

Had the oppurtunity to meet him at Harbour 60 restaurant a few years ago, when he was still in power. He was very polite, came over to our table and asked if we were Leaf fans. Had a good chat. Only 2 tables with people at them in the place.

They were on replay and commented on.

Otherwise no one would have noticed because we were watching the puck.

Well to be honest...there was no hockey and the world...well the US has gone batsh!t crazy in the past 7 months. So it was inevitable to an extent.

Umm is this your first time here?
We could win the cup and people would still whine about the refs being against the leafs.

But the missed high stick on Morgan was horrible. Dont care about the rest.

You'd think the leafs lost the way the refs are spoken about today.

Quite honestly, I do my best to stay objective because 1. they are human and make mistakes. 2. It will happen to everyone at some point. It just sucks it happens to your team when it does.
