general and pervasive Habs dislike.

Leafs v Habs aside... I have always despised the crosschecking. It is especially bad because every once in a while it gets called...

and then we get moron bruins fans and announcers going about a good veteran team knowing how to push the limits.

WTF is that. The NHL is infuriating with the way they decide to make a call or not. It is literally the only sport that does this.

I've always hated it because people truly believe what Keefe said about it today - "it's part of the fabric of hockey."

Including my poop men's league, where some 250 lb. loser is cross-checking me into oblivion, because hey, this Tuesday night game in February is important - we are only 3 points out of 4th place!

To be honest, I was very surprised by the Habs. They played well together and they were first to the puck a lot.

Suzuki has a lot in the tank. He didn't get tired. Looks like he may have another gear too.

Josh Anderson was impressive. And, as much as it pains me to say it, that Romanov kid played very well, and is gonna be a stud.

The Leafs drafted Sandin at the end of round 1 in 2018 and the Habs took Romanov 10 picks later in the second round. I've got high hopes for Sandin, but right now....they are not close.

I admire Aethsie's dedication to this thread - he's still going back and replying to posts 10 pages ago!

I just worry about making my own posts, taking care of the details, and taking the thread post by post

Josh was good last night. Hard to compare them when we have not seen Sandin play lately. I think Sandin will be a great player, but that is just me.

They keep that up his legs are gonna look like redwood trunks by the end of the season

A bit off topic, but has anyone actually seen redwoods?

They are truly insane.

I'll give you this, but remind you that Freddie "five-hole" Andersen plays for the Leafs and Carey "(frank)en" Price plays for the Habs.

I am shocked.

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty clear dive.

I had a teammate that did poop like that all the time. Before his shift he'd say; "I'm gonna go draw a penalty this shift".

It was such bullpoop.

So obviously I've been one of the worst culprits in political talk...

99% of what we've talked about is the gross incompetency of the Trump presidency. And a huge part of that was the failure to take COVID-19 seriously.

That lack of leadership has affected - and will continue to affect - hockey.

So I don't think that the politics in this thread has been completely unrelated to hockey.

And quite honestly, without the political talk here for the past 9 months, Ek would have had a hard time paying the bills.

Romanov's pick came out of nowhere though.

When the Habs drafted him, some teams and panelists didn't even have him on their list, or he was listed as a very late pick.

Kudos to Timmins and his team for that one, they not only discovered a great young player, but managed to keep him a secret.

And the risk of having Scabby taze my balls, Price has been mediocre at best for the past few years.

He's living off of reputation now.

Ok. But what does that have to do with the developmental arc of two young defencemen, one of which did not even dress?

Price is still amazing.

His last playoffs speak for themselves.

Well... every playoffs he's been in actually.

I'm not worried about him.

Just doing a quick peek at their stats - their sv% and GAA have been virtually identical for the past couple of years.

They are beauties - my brother lives on Vancouver Island and we visit Cathedral Grove every time I visit him. Also my first wine cellar was made mostly of Redwood (good for wine cellars because not much odor - no longer allowed)

Not surprised by this, but the softies through the five hole are an Andersen specialty.

Yeah I’ve seen pics of family members who live out west at their base... but I know that the experience of seeing one in person would be on a whole new level

A friend has an epic story about meeting him in a bar in Chicago before a rugby game.

My friend will defend Burkie to the death - said he was just a great guy.

Ive met him twice.
Chatted on a plane once. Very nice and informative.

And according to the Forest Ranger we talked to, it's pretty common for their insides to burn out in fires, so they become hollow.

I have a great photo of my wife and kids inside of one - gives you a great perspective on just how frikin' ginourmous they are.
