Fist.

B. Great write up.

I felt 4k's name was mentioned too many times in game 1. Not a good thing when your 6-8 dman is a focal point. Tonight, not mentioned. Positive.

I still didn't notice Turris? Honestly thought he got sat. If not, good for him.

Good on koskinen for showing up when the announced starter had to sit one out late. May need this a couple times. Much approved from the fans when he plays a little above expectation, lets hope he can do it on expected game days too.

Last note, still too many shots against to make me happy. Not gonna have a happy goalie and soft shots like tonight happen too often. Team defense still needs work.

Either way, we got half the points possible and kept them to the same. No 3 point games where we lost. A OK opening series.

There are still so many holes on this team defensively for them to have success when it counts. I know I always harp on Draisaitl, but even McDavid was "floating" a lot in his own zone. Instead of covering their assignment, the centremen on this team simply fly-by the slot in the D zone, hoping for a quick outlet to transition the other way on O. This simply cannot happen in tight games and until there is discipline at the C position, this team won't have the success it desires. Turris is a nice new option at the position, no doubt, but he is a 3c these days. Personally, I would move Nuge back to 2C and let Draisaitl float on LW with McDavid (but then you've got two guys abandoning responsible 2way play). Nuge and Yammer on the wings make up for McDavid and Draisaitl's defensive shortcomings (which is why Tippet has the lines this way), but it's a dangerous way to play. Nuge is one of the most unsung heroes in the league, always playing responsibly and covering for these guys, while still popping in points....amazing what a complete player he has become.

When the Oilers of old played this way, they had Huddy, Gregg, Muni, Smith, Lowe, Beukeboom,Fogelin on D, Krushelnyski, Hunter, McTavish, Tikkanen, etc. They played D and fought hard so the stars could focus on offense. Until we have those other supporting guys, McD and Draisaitl have to play some D. For a decade or more, there has been a direct correlation here with a defensively irresponsible team, a goaltender that looks to be terrible...goalie gets shipped out an has success elsewhere. I just don't think the team can get to the next level until the top 6 (especially cenres) play a 200ft game, or we get the supporting guys that can pick up the slack. sooooooo much slack!

Great scoring, great PP, top two lines rolling on offense, etc.

The fourth line is horrendous! Chiasson is no longer an NHLer, move on.

Kaira on the PK was so bad! He switched sides about 5 times on the same shift, didn't get into the lanes, and Nuge or whoever was with him couldn't keep up with Kaira's idiocy moving in and out of position...let alone focus on his own role. Also, Kaira is a 4th liner and I have yet to see him dump and chase yet after 120min. (at least Chiasson gets THAT part).

I don't know the answer but these guys are playing shinny hockey out there and it's scary. (exciting, but scary).

An injured Toews would still probably outwork Draisaitl even while he's injured and has no skates on his feet.

Lastly, I believe that if this recipe doesn't change, we are going to lose McDavid when he can sign somewhere else.

Nice retort there skippy.

but no worries..I'll just leave then. I'm getting tired of the millennial punks like you on this fkn board anyway. I used to enjoy the back and forth analysis on this page, but it appears I have outgrown it, or I just keep getting older and you kids...well...let's just leave it on me then.

p.s. This game paid for all of my schooling, and then I received a regular paycheck to play this game probably when you were still in peewee.

sKiPpY.

See, I find it hard to believe that you played any level of hockey, because those chirps are (frank)ing terrible.

You don't provide any analysis on your posts, you just hate on Draisaitl because he (frank)ed your wife, and don't back up any of your piss poor opinions with any facts.

If you feel the need to lie about who you are on the internet, more power to you. I also have the right to call you a (frank)ing idiot no lifer.

There are still so many holes on this team defensively for them to have success when it counts. I know I always harp on Draisaitl, but even McDavid was "floating" a lot in his own zone.

What game were you watching? McDavid saved a goal by taking a penalty.

Instead of covering their assignment, the centremen on this team simply fly-by the slot in the D zone, hoping for a quick outlet to transition the other way on O.

Again dude, both McDavid and Draisaitl had solid games defensively. Both the advanced stats and eye test show that both of them have been more beneficial offensively than hurting their team on defense.

This simply cannot happen in tight games and until there is discipline at the C position, this team won't have the success it desires. Turris is a nice new option at the position, no doubt, but he is a 3c these days.

More opinions with no substance.

Repeating what you've said, adding nothing new to the paragraph, nor backing up these bogus opinions with facts. Yamamoto couldn't get the puck out of the zone on the fourth Vancouver goal on Wednesday. Not his fault, but that line has been great so far.

Nuge is one of the most unsung heroes in the league, always playing responsibly and covering for these guys, while still popping in points....amazing what a complete player he has become.

This has been your only half decent take so far. Good on you little buddy.

When the Oilers of old played this way, they had Huddy, Gregg, Muni, Smith, Lowe, Beukeboom,Fogelin on D, Krushelnyski, Hunter, McTavish, Tikkanen, etc. They played D and fought hard so the stars could focus on offense.

This isn't the 1990s anymore dude. Stop living in the past. The game has changed.

Until we have those other supporting guys, McD and Draisaitl have to play some D.

Continually saying this with absolutely nothing backing it up.

This is literally all you've been saying this entire spiel, yet at no point have you presented facts to back up this supposed argument. I find it hard to believe you aren't just some bum with a low paying job, because my god, you have no substance to any of your arguments. You'd maybe get a C in college if you don't improve. Plus you seem very easy to temper, jobs won't hire you if you're like that you bum!

Great scoring, great PP, top two lines rolling on offense, etc.

The fourth line is horrendous! Chiasson is no longer an NHLer, move on.

A fourth line is a fourth line. Are you expecting them to score 100 goals a season?

Kaira on the PK was so bad! He switched sides about 5 times on the same shift, didn't get into the lanes, and Nuge or whoever was with him couldn't keep up with Kaira's idiocy moving in and out of position...let alone focus on his own role. Also, Kaira is a 4th liner and I have yet to see him dump and chase yet after 120min. (at least Chiasson gets THAT part).

Yes, this is called a penalty kill. The one forward covers lanes, while the other forward pressures the puck carrier. I'm not a huge fan of Khaira, but going off on the guy for no reason is odd. He's not noticeable, but he hasn't been hindering this team.

I don't know the answer but these guys are playing shinny hockey out there and it's scary. (exciting, but scary).

An injured Toews would still probably outwork Draisaitl even while he's injured and has no skates on his feet.

Both literally and figuratively untrue. You felt the need to throw a shot in at Draisaitl again.

Lastly, I believe that if this recipe doesn't change, we are going to lose McDavid when he can sign somewhere else.

Not impossible.

listen Debt4Life14,

I probably made more money today buying back BLDP calls than you will in the next 3yrs. Now go satisfy yourself with your Snickers and keep waiting for your Covid gov't check.

p.s. that BLDP trade has been so good lately, I piggy backed on it myself...not just for clients only.

p.p.s. you have no clue what I'm talking about because it doesn't involve a shovel, a pizza box, or a game controller.
