As a fan of one tkachuck brother to another those two boys are a couple of the best things to happen in our game in recent years.

One question on the Norris take. What was his underlying stats in the few games he got last year? While bad stats isn’t necessarily a good sign in a solid win, it is only one game against the “projected” first place team in the division.

Sens won, so it doesn't really matter, but how did this goal count? I'm not sure if it's the angle here, but the puck left the guys stick above Murray's head. That's easily a high-stick.

Yep, it was a solid team effort. I like that culture being built.

Tkachuk was being used as cross checking bag all night in front of the leafs net..... no one cried about that, thats the difference between team cultures

Just 1 but it was a good 1, only 12 hrs to next game,not 310 days...yay

Well said! Leafs are so soft. And, they whine, they snivel and oh, how they complain about it not being fair.

They have decided the problem is Andersen. But what is a goalie supposed to do when he has Tkachuk sharing the other half of the crease with him?

Leaf fans go on to blame Brodie who was -3 on the night but miss that Rielly was -4. Problem is you could see Brodie fighting and losing down low (he can't handle Tkachuk). But, Rielly is a no show and does not even make a camera appearance in his own end zone.

Here is the problem. It is very simple.

Leafs are a team of figure skaters and ice dancers. So, you let them whirl and twirl around the ice and when they pause to admire their own artistry, you smash them in the face.

The media cries...but they are so pretty. Look at their whirling twirls on the outer perimeter of the offensive zone. So, you smash them in the face one more time.

You know you are in trouble when the Leaf highlight reel is centred on Wayne Simmonds talking trash to Austin Watson. These guys would give a wussywillow a bad ass image.

Good write up....

Tonight will be a great test of the Sens because it is a true test of the Toronto Maple Leafs. They have a lot of people calling them out for their will and character and this is the Leafs' game to win; otherwise there's something serious wrong with the Soul of tha team.

Thumbs Up - Matt Murray! (not perfect but looks very solid; much needed!)
Thumbs Up - Batherson & Tkachuk (both look like 20g 20a THIS season)
Thumbs Up - Coburn, Watson, Gudbranson*!
Thumbs Down - White, L.Brown..... if they get it going, this team can actually have a hope of playoffs (assuming Murray & D play like they did last night)

It was a nice win.

I did notice how slow the Sens looked depending on who was on the ice. Paquette didn't look great to me. I also thought Josh Brown had a very rough night. I think over the longer haul if you keep rolling J.Brown, Gudbranson, and Coburn out there regularly teams will make them pay.

On he positive I really liked Paul's game. A few nice power forward moves, played with confidence and used his size. Batherson, Tkachuk, and Chabot really stood out. They all had outstanding games.

The rematch is going to be fun to watch. I expect to see a different Leafs team show up.

No joke, when sens took Chabot 17th overall I was like “maybe they should take Kyle Connor bc I don’t know this kid”. I was wrong. But I also remember when Colin white got selected and thought “why not take konecny” - I was right!

I think it was the angle there. Too close to call so they couldn't overturn it.

Just so happy to have hockey back.

Sens did better than I expected. Hope for change and even more improvement.

Leafs remain the Leafs. They never change.

Completely off the top of my head (so I could be dead wrong), I don't believe the underlying stats were all that great last year either. But don't quote me on that.

Here's the problem, plain and simple.......you are an idiot.....give them a break, only two games....you seem to know very little

This should be Nick Paul’s year! Almost every game I attended Paul stood out! Hopefully DJ Smith sees this guys potential and gives him the opportunity to go to the next level.
