No need to name a captain this season. I’d give the young guys another year to develop without the pressure of the C. |

Seriously, keep the snarky comments to yourself. Comment on the team or discussions in the forum. |

If the Devils can keep this tempo, they will always give themselves an opportunity to be in the game. |

Wood again, lol.
Smith with 2 points on the year and Hughes with 3 assists through 4 periods of hockey is nice to see though. |

Its a shame its not an 82 game season, otherwise he'd put up 50 goals. |

Hughes and Smith looking like rookie NHLers instead of junior level players. Good to see. Nice play from Hughes to setup that goal.
I want them to win, but the idea of Smith and Power anchoring the top 2 pairs is something to desire. Reminds me of .. my gosh almost 30 years ago with nieds, except stevens wasn’t a rookie. This group is playing well for the talent they have. Hope they can maintain positive spirits albeit a losing record and recognize the growth they’re having individually and as a team.
I only caught the last several minutes.. is PK our best dman? He doesn’t look too terrible.
But here’s the best part of the game.. and of the day. |

I like that Jack isn't forcing things as much. Despite getting two assists I thought he was inconsistent in the first game, but today he has been really strong with his decision making so far. He'll get a lot more assists by keeping plays alive with simple plays than trying to force a cross ice past through 3 opponents every time he gets the puck. |

Agreed, hes learning to create his own space. Hes actually been decent at times defensively too. Overall hes been improved and he's only going to keep getting better |

Obviously it worked out ok for Boston, but I don’t like the bench minor for losing a challenge. Doesn’t seem right to lose a goal on a 50/50 call and then have to go short handed on top of it. |

Am I the only one who thinks PK looks horrible? Weak wristers from the point, sloppy passing and on the shorthanded goal he clearly didn't even look to see if there was another bruin player on the rush. He legitimately looked surprised to look left and see Bergeron. My god |

bigger problem is that we have no idea what goaltender interference is anymore. Their guy barely touches the goalie and blackwood started the play from outside the crease. Who knows what about that play was actually against the rules. |

I don't think you'll find anyone here to defend PK, and I don't know why he wouldn't completely take the pass away when Marchand was coming from a bad angle and had Palmieri on his back.

I don't mind that they are trying to work the defense more into the offense. More shots from the points to help generate chances is fine because we need all of the shots we can get. Just when you watch PK trying to force shots through defenders in front of him it gets frustrating. This team isn't a high skill offense yet especially with injuries and visas needed to get worked out, so volume shooting is a good strategy. I just question it's efficacy with these low danger plays being the bulk of the offense. |
