I looked at the lines from last practice didnt really occur to me before but just noticed for the first time that Vin-Hin wasnt listed wow. Is he hurt or just outplayed in camp?

Good question. Honestly, there’s been so much speculation with the lines from camp due to groups being split into “opening night roster” and “not opening night roster” and guys rotating back and forth between each group, that I’m just waiting for the official lines to be announced today - haha.

Lines @morning skate
Verhaeghe - Barkov - Duclair
Huberdeau - Wennberg - Hornqvist
Vatrano - Luostarinen - Tippett
Lomberg - Acciari - Connolly

Weegar - Ekblad
Yandle - Stralman
Stillman - Gudas

Driedger
Montembeault
Ready for some Panthers hockey,
Yandle gets a chance from Q to play with “some pace”, and play “the right way” in tonight’s season opener. Hopefully he got the hint that he needs to put some actual iron in his game if he values his “ironman” streak. I think it’s a good move to give him a chance to do so before scratching him.

Luostarinen (he was the main player wanted in the Trocheck trade) has grabbed the 3C spot, for now.

Or maybe Q just doesn’t like guys named Vinny?

“You betcha!”

That third D pairing has potential to be physically disruptive.

These lines are looking great. I like Lomberg’s energy and grit on the fourth line.

Really curious how the third line will do.

This is sweet!

Hey Harv - I called him a “star” for this organization.

I think “superstar” status comes when you can get to the level of consistently being the difference-maker and showing up in big games/situations.

Third line has been looking good at camp, from what I’ve read. Also looking forward to seeing what Verhaeghe can do. I think he’s gonna be good.
Looking forward to seeing Lomberg, too, I never heard of him before FL signed him. Zito seems to really like this kid.

Well no disrespect to chicago but im glad we started season against them. Rust was showing through and the powerplay was freakin awful ya they got one at the end but that was quick on the pp. If they didnt score there who knows howbthe rest of the pp would have went

Perhaps the message was received. Yandle gets no complaints from me after game1, even with the penalty he took. His teammates were really stoked for him when he scored that goal. We’ll see if he maintains that level of effort defensively.
Sitting in the stands you could see the start of what Zito has said the Panthers will be, a much tougher team to play against.

So assuming yandle stays in who goes out when nutivara returns? Forsling i guess?

It was good. My only complaint was the fake crowd noise. It was too loud and distracting, even downright annoying. I hope they at least turn it down if not eliminate it altogether.

Awesome. Yea, I could see that being annoying.
