These were on the tail end of the last thread:

Beiga waived
Christian Djoos is out of Covid quarantine tomorrow and needs a roster spot. Where Biega is going is unknown, the Taxi squad is full so either Biega is sent to GR or someone currently on the Taxi squad gets sent down, perhaps one of the goalies.

Aaron Dell waived by Toronto. Who claims him, NJ or Chicago???? Detroit doesn't really need him...or do they???? NJ has next dibs. I think they can not pass him up and then waive their recently claimed goalie, Comrie.

But then again, how often can a team claim on waivers? do you go to the bottom of the order after a claim? Is there a time limit til the next time one can claim??? Anyone know??

The claim order is determined ahead of time. It does switch after a while when teams are re-seeded.

I don’t think there’s a limit, but you have to have enough roster spots open

I know original order is based on position of standings from prior year where the worst has 1st claim. Or is it the same as draft order, position after cup is awarded? And what determines reseeding?

With Beiga being waived is it too soon to play Djoos? Maybe we will see him tomorrow instead of Staal, I sincerely hope.

So, Waivers is based upon final previous regular season standing. If you sign a waived player, you go to the bottom of the list, if you pass on signing, the next team is able to sign or pass....as I understand.

CBJ is a pain for us, but they’re dysfunctional this year. We’ll be lucky to split, but if Vanilla Greiss is hot we could sweep. COULD.
I want to see sustained pressure, crisp passing, controlled rebounds. 2d line is buzzing and could break out today, LARMANZZI is starting to get their collective shirt together. Want to see Smith & Lindstrom on, Staal & Frans sitting....time to see younger guys come on. D needs to be tough because CBJ gets hot quickly then it’s game-over. But, again, they’re having some issues this year....this one will be interesting. 1 of 8 b2b games (I think it’s 8 b2b series this year....), so it’ll be fun to watch.

Too early for Djoos to play, need some practice ice time, maybe tomorrow. Beiga to GR if no one takes him by noon today. Like to see what he brings, tho.

Lots of confusion about waivers here.

Putting in a claim on a player does NOT move a team to the "bottom of the list." The last place team continues to have priority.

Before a certain date priority order is determined by simply reverse of last season standings. After that date it's points percentage of the current season. Under normal circumstances that date is Nov. 1, but I'm not sure what it is this season.

OK, SJ Buf, NJ and CHI may go after Dell. I think Buffalo will get him.
Then they waive Hutton and Chi claims him, then they waive Subban and .....he goes to Rockford.

It’s going to be interesting. I think Dell has to undergo another quarantine before he can join the team

Bobby Ryan !! Yeah... holy crap what a quick wrist shot off the faceoff. Wings got some jump today... up 1-0 already.

Penalty shot saved by Greiss on Seth Jones !! nice. Thank goodness the new goalie tandem is looking solid so far. Been lacking for a long time

First period notes are up:

First period -
Summary - Detroit has been really good on faceoffs. The flow is better, and the team is on track for their highest SOG this season with 13 in the first. Ryan makes the fantastic move to be on left wing for faceoff, shoots a moving puck after Rasmussen wins the faceoff to score. Puck was on edge, scorers make that work.

I can’t over emphasize what Greiss is giving to Detroit. He stripped Jones of the puck on a penalty shot, poke checking and gobbling up the puck. Korpisalo not holding the puck, rebounds bouncing to neutral zone. Bertuzzi drop pass almost led to the tying goal. Larkin line showing more swagger, but those blind passes are leading to opportunities.

Ryan’s prowess and deciding to be on the off wing, what a slick move. Rasmussen dropped right in. The wingers on that line aren’t passengers. This is really exciting stuff to see.
