And probably face the back up goalie. No choice to win this one

If Paquette dresses for this game, the coaches "earn your ice" message is just right out the window. He has been, BY A (frank)ING MILE, the worst player for either team in both games they've played this year.

he's taken dumb penalties and is rocking a CF% rel of -29.....worst on the team by a country mile. he's on the ice for 3.3 goals against/60, and exactly 0.0 goals for/60

he's brings NOTHING positive to the team and has no business dressing over guys like white, galchenyuk, or even Haley at this point......who could play with his skates untied and not put up worse numbers.

I tend to agree that Paquette hasn't been great. However, if he can play well, he is sort of an ideal 4th line centre. Plays hard, physical, and could wear down other players.

Would I rather someone else in the lineup? 100% Yes. I'd like to give Galchenyuk a shot at some point. White is a surprising early season sit, but also, not really. He has never been great and benefitted from insulated icetime early in his career. Really hope that contract doesn't bite this team. If he can't crack this current roster, what is going to happen in 1-2 years?

Norris is still in but White is scratched. It helps to be Tkachuk's buddy and share living arrangements. The living arrangements were set before camp.

I like the conspiracy track. Maybe something there with the relationship with Tkachuk and Norris. However, Norris had a strong AHL year last year and was very much in the mix for a roster spot in the offseason.

White has not been good for some time. The only reason people are surprised to see him scratched is because of his contract. Not because of his play. It's not even a White/Norris thing. It's White/ other middling player he can't beat out for a roster spot, thing.

That D is not good enough behind Chabot!! Solid 3rd pairing guys but no..... we also should target a PP specialist somewhere if Brannstrom and Wolanin can't get it going!

We should just trade Wolanin for a 4th or something. If we don't play him anyways. He needs a series of games or a change of scenery

paquette isn't even playing center, he's playing LW......a position where, i would suggest, every other player in the organization (in that position) is better than him.

can't even say if he's good on the PK since he's taken like 35% of the teams penalties so far

Norris should have a good game tonight. He'll be playing against a tired #3 Jets line because Smith put 2 veteran lines to play against the Jets top lines. Galcheniuck, Stepan, Dafonov,
Paul, Tierney, C. Brown

So far Stutzle is the leader out of the top 3 draftpicks....

Im predicting a 2 point night for him. Although that goal was impressive,i hope that type of goal does not get repeated. Thats a very dangerous situation and he was lucky not to be knocked into next week

this.

i absolutely think white should be in there.....but not over norris. he should be in there over anisimov or paquette. paquette has been an absolute train wreck in 2 games and doesn't belong anywhere near an NHL lineup. anisimov has been "whatever" but considering he's gone after this year, why not give his ice time to white and see if he can turn it around.

not sure what you're talking about..............there wasn't a leaf player within 20 feet of him, how was that a "dangerous situation"?

White should be playing, he's never going to be the player to light up the net every night. He'll be a solid 20 average guy, but his 200 foot game is where he shines.
I think he'll be a solid 3rd line C. But he's a natural leader and should be allowed to prove that, especially with the contract he was given.

Hence why he was lucky, would he try it if there was a player skating 5 feet behind him ? I dont know, and dont want to find out.

probably. he can't avoid making plays for fear of getting hit.....his willingness to be aggressive like that, and go to high risk areas, is one of the things that makes him a great player

yup. White has the potential to be a Mike Fisher type player. never gonna light it up for 60pts, but will consistently be a 40pt guy with a great 2-way game.

people expecting more than that will always complain about him.

I like his aggresiveness, i do believe his motto is no risk no gain (his mother taught him that). But in the nhl that would be considered a suicide pass, and some opposing players will crush you when they have a chance. I doubt he is played in such a physical contact league before,no offence to the German league but the nhl is completely different... so he will have to learn about taking risk when and whete..... to his credit like i said i have no idea if he would do that same play in a different situation, maybe he wont.

Dang, there goes my 2 point prediction. Maybei it was that collision in the corner with muzzin. After muzzin knocked him down, wich i thought watson should have answered. Stutzle was not going to back down. I just want the guy to have a nice long prosperous career in ottawa

Feel like the only reason they are keeping guys around is so that they can trade them. It's the only reason guys like Paquette or Galchenyuk haven't been put on waivers. Sens are waiting for injuries on other teams. The only problem is they can basically only trade within Canada pretty much and every other team is up against the cap already. I like the depth but I hate them brining in guys to sit. Basically they need to make decision on white, brown, Tierny and Anismov, and they have to wait until after the Seattle expansion draft to do so.

Just because Stutzle and Laine are both scratched due to minor injuries tonight does not mean that there is any type of trade brewing between the Sens and Jets.

100% this.
I even think he is captain material.

But this coach better not be sliding into that old "play the veterans" garbage. We're still 2-3 years away. Play the kids. Let them fail. Let them learn. Rinse and Repeat.
This IS the season to do it. No fans in the stands to groan.
